In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Steps To Become Fedex Certified!!!

Airlines

I know this is a FEDEX post but I didn't know where else to find this information. Does anyone know the steps to get certified by the airlines? Has anyone used Continental before? I live in their hub (Houston) so if they allow reptile shipments and are reliable, they would be the ideal choice for my air freight option.
Thanks

Continental

Never mind. I just called their animal line which is 1-800-575-3335 and they readily accept snakes and have so for some time. Under 10 pounds is $119 and they offer insurance up to $1,200. They will ship up to 50 pounds but it's more. I didn't check how much since it won't apply to me. Hope this helps anyone down in South Texas (their hub is Houston).

Okay, so ive gotten the Form to have my package tested, all filled out. ive set up my account and have an account number ( took me about three hours of nonstop calling and figuring out why my Debit/ATM/Visa card was not being accepted. And finally got someone to do it right.

So, i have a box that i can use for shipping. I'll fill it with everything i need to as if i were really shipping something.

I will also be getting the number for my local representative and making sure everything will go well.

Ill let you know how it turns out :)

Alicia, one thing my rep didn't tell me but I found out when I called the package test center is that you can send the test box 2 day express and mark "bill recipient" so that you don't have to pay to ship the test package.

Awesome. Do you just mark that on the shipping label you print? ( can i have them pick it up for free too!? LOL)

Also, whats the business to business only shipping thing? I saw it mentioned in the thread here, and that they dont really look, so should i just ignore that, and ship like i normally would? or ask for a persons place of work when i ship?

my Rep was pretty cool and is relatively new to the whole thing. He said he had a few other people ask him about it as well. How large are reps areas usually? Is there one rep for all of massachusetts, or just my area?

So many questions!!! lol Shipping is the EASY part!

OH one more thing, since i have the test paper filled out, at the top there is two spots to checkmark. One says "package testing" and the other says "Package Design" do i check off both?

The business to business thing is an area of concern, as are some of the other stipulations on the contract. I've seen others post that they go on the assumption that home based businesses ( small time keepers/breeders) are ok. I really don't think that FedEx pays much attention to where you ship. I think for now most of us are happy to have a company that at least gives us some sort of legitimate way to ship. Maybe in the future a concerted effort by all certified shippers to address some of our concerns could be helpful. Then again, maybe it's better not to rock the boat.

I just did this myself Alicia and I checked testing only. However the results appear that they do check both design and test the package. They take pictures of your box, inside and out and drop it from some level. My point is I checked only one and it didn't make any diffierence. I got my waiver.

Forgot to mention I'm in Florida and my rep is in Texas. Not sure what all areas he covers or how their territories are defined.

Todd

I posted this in another thread, but my waiver doesn't say anything about only shipping to a business so they may have dropped that stipulation. I only checked package testing on my form. Not sure about them picking up your test package, i dropped mine off at a manned fed-ex location and filled out a label there instead of printing one.

I spoke to the lady at fedex for the box testing, and she said that i just have to check off ( when i ship ) that the recipient pays, and they can pick it up as well. ( SWEET! )

So tomorrow ( or tonight ) ill get the shipping stuff all printed out and get the box ready to be picked up one of these days, this week. Rock on! Im well on my way! Oh and i can have it shipped 2 day to them free :) so thats cool beans! Strange that your rep is in texas when you are in FL. But i suppose when we talk to reps, they are of the higher ups and there are not that many of them around. Mine was very friendly though.

Does anyone know how long it takes for Fedex to get back to you AFTER they have recieved your package for testing. Obviously I am a little more than anxious. They recieved my package at 9:04 am this morning (Thursday). How long does it take them to approve you? I know after they approve me I still have to wait on legal...how long does that take? TIA

My package got there last Friday, and asked them to email me my results, nothing still. I know there was a holiday but that was only 1 day. They recieved my package at 9am on the 31st.

you will then need to call 1-800-GOFEDEX (4633339) and ask customer service to have your account representative call you. This can take anywhere between a few hours to 48 hours. While you are waiting you can go to http://fedex.com/us/services/expres...ging/tips.html, scroll down towards the bottom and click on a link that says 'complete this form' under the heading "Packaging Testing or Evaluation". This is the form you will have to print and fill out to send with your package.

Hi, ummm that link in this part dont work for me. I can't see the page to get the "complete this form" part... plus do i need to call to talk to a rep? if i do do i ask for my towns rep or how do i ask for that?

If you have already have an account just call the 1800 number and ask that your account sales manager to call you. You should receive a call within a couple of days.

ya i have a acc on there. Well, i have the form now that you gave me i will do that and put it on the package latter on. Im going to over box the package but do i put the form on the overbox or on the inside package?

i also have one more small question to i check package testing or design? i was thinking testing cause thats what i am going to do. well any way thanks for your help.

You check testing. I put the form on the box that was tested. I then put that box inside another and wrote test inner box. I didn't put my account number on the form but inside a deli cup in the box being tested. I also sent it third-party billing so FedEx picked up the bill for testing.
