In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Steve at TheVeiledChameleon.com

Nice little heavily advertised commercial ya did there. If I did the unboxing of my snake I got from then you would see a dehydrated, hot lethargic python who is close to death. I see they still ship by ups. I use to work for ups, they THROW boxes labelled fragile.

Glad you got a so-far-good lizard. Perhaps I should had video taped the burial of the snake we got from them.

He never delivered what I purchased and will not respond to e-mails or phone calls

Ard, please make a thread about it with all the info, emails, etc.

He doesn't need to make a new thread...but it WOULD be helpful if he would actually give details about the deal he experienced and offer up whatever proof he has of the transaction and how it went down. It can all be kept right here in this thread.

Just curious, how could you be so calm if your initial reaction was a DOA? Id be LIVID.

Steve Vigo and Karen Lieber of thechameleoncompany.com

My name is Michael Lloret

I too have been recently scammed by Steve Vigo. I ordered 5 farmed savannah monitors that were supposed to be 8-10 inches. I was very concerned about receiving the shipment because it was around 40 degrees. Steve told me that he was qualified to ship in the cold and to not worry. I was dumb and listened to him. When I received the animals, there was absolutely no heating in the box and they were freezing. This wasn't the first thing I noticed. After opening the pillowcase I came to see massive animals. After measuring, these animals measured 14, 17, 17.5, 18 and 18 inches. They were massive. After further inspection, one of the savannahs had a crushed hand with many broken fingers. Another had a broken hand and was having alot of trouble walking. Each one of the animals was infested with ticks as well.

Steve was very responsive when receiving the money, but every time I tried to contact him after I showed my anger, I was told that he was not in the office or that he was "sick". I am still trying to contact the man, but just like many other people on this thread, it looks like he robbed me as well.

 At least those poor animals are now in better hands. Do you have any e-mails showing what was expected in the order, the claims of proper cold-weather shipping, and pictures of the animals you received?

Yeah, if you call Steve up like you want to buy something, he'll answer. That's how my boyfriend got him on the phone. He left a message saying was interested in some chameleons. Since he never saw the number before, he went and picked up the phone on my boyfriend's second call. And he asked him how are we gonna solve the problem with the dead snake and Steve knew he got caught that time, couldn't pass it over to Karen, so they talked.

I'm not sure what a "threat" is but I've been ask to file one with details. I ordered and paid for a vieled Chameleon (male adult) When he didn't come I made an inquiry and was told it was too hot to ship to AZ where I live. This was true. Temps were running above 100. So I watched the forecast and everytime we were to have lower temps for over 5 days I would e-mail them and tell them to ship. This went on for 3 months. Now it's cool. They won't respond to e-mails or phone calls. I would like to have their mailing address if anyone knows it. Ardis Wait

I think it interesting that in spite of the complaints FaunaClassified is still running an advertizment from the "The Veiled Chameleon".

Anyone may pay for advertisement and be a member unless breaking site rules. That's why there is a BOI, so potential buyers can weigh information and make an informed choice to buy or RUN FAST AND FAR AWAY!

These people faded away a while ago but recently I have had some calls about bad experiences with these people. Again... As such, it seems that these scammers are back in business. I thought I would give the largest thread I could find on them a bump. DO NOT SUPPORT these thieves.

the veiled chameleon

Dang. Cross your fingers for me guys. I didn't hear about this site until after I sent money for a veiled cham. I haven't heard anything at all since then. I fear I may be the newest victim. At least it was only $100, still I work hard for my money and it kind of bums me out.

That's their thing. They take the money and disappear. I was able to get my money back through paypal. At that time their website was down and the BBB had numerous complaints. I hope the best for you.

Noelle

I wish they would just go away and stay away, I wonder how many countless people they have scammed that never make it here? Best of luck Daniel, dispute that charge ASAP!

I have to say that on the first posted TOS it said all CHAMELEONS will be sent UPS. It didn't mention snakes at all. From reading the TOS only you would think that all they sold was chameleons. They should have said "all animal purchases"
