    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Well congratulations John. Do you want a cookie for all that you do? Please go start your own " John Mendrola walks on water" Google guy thread. This thread only need to hear from two people and your "accomplishments" are irrelevant in this thread.
 
My accomplishments are widely know within the herpetological world, and speak for themselves..

And since this thread involves only TWO people, why on EARTH are you interjecting..? lol..

Some people are so cool behind a keyboard; usually, because they lack a real life when away from it..
 
I set a deadline of this Thursday for the refund. After that point, I'll have a talk with my bank to see if they can get this straightened out since PayPal doesn't seem to want to do anything.

One could ask the same of you, Mr. Mendrola, since you are not one of those two people.

Sudden medical problems, transportation problems, job problems, shipper problems are all standard scammer/thief excuses.

Ryan is due an immediate refund by Steve Doss, regardless of Mr. Mendrola's self-proclaimed accomplishments, reputation and threats, IMO.

Yeah, some people think they really are cool behind a keyboard; they think their threats and chest-thumping actually trumps logic & rational conclusions.

Bottom line is, Ryan is due an immediate refund by Steve Doss.
 
In John's defense, PayPal has yet to do anything for me yet on this one, so you'll have to give him his point about PayPal having a tendency to be useless in situations such as this. I do plan on finding other ways to make purchases via the Internet as PayPal took forever to fix an issue earlier this year (the one mentioned in the one email, actually); their customer service does seem to have declined recently.

Hopefully I can just get a refund from Steve Doss without having to pester PayPal and/or my bank, though, as that will certainly make it much quicker & easier on me.
 
I would like to interject that John is the real deal. Although I have not purchased from him, he is well respected within the community and has contributed quite a bit of valuable husbandry information to those in need. In addition, he is highly active in educating the general public to help people learn to appreciate these often feared, and misunderstood creatures.
He has done more than many to further the advancements of captive husbandry and is not one to allow these accomplishments to go to his head. Before people throw out the "I must be a friend defending him" speech, I have never met him, spoke to him on the phone, and am not a "friend". The extent of our interactions have been through various forums, and he has always been willing to share advice, as well as listen to alternate ideas from other hobbyists who are serious about the future propagation of the animals we cherish.
 
I am an active member on the Kentucky Reptile Expo forum. I sent him a PM on there about this thread, I didn't know if anyone else had.
 
With all due respect, Mr Mendrola, your resume really has nothing to do with this thread.
 
I have not received a response to my email yet, and it appears that he hasn't replied to that thread on the KRE forum. He has been on that forum as well as Facebook in the past 24 hours.
 
That sucks.....I've known Steve from the various Kentucky shows for years now and although I never bought anything from him, I would not have had a second guess about doing so.

He definitely owes you a refund.....just ignoring the situation is not good. I hope you get everything worked out.
 
First of all, my "resume" is several dozen pages long, and you are absolutely right, has NOTHING to do with this transaction.. Those who wish to Google my name, can view my accomplishments for themselves.. I wouldn't be surprised for a SECOND, if Google has never heard of any of you.. If you don't recognize my name, you're a "herp enthusiast" (likely, a Dendrobates keeper, or gecko keeper); if you're a "herpetologist", you know who I am.. And, self-proclamation means nothing, when a simple search-engine search will familiarize you with at least a SMALL portion of my work, and EVERY reputable name in herpetology will validate that for you..

And, Skinker is right, it's not Fauna, it's the regulars with nothing better to do.. An “attack” on Fauna, just means that somebody is jealous of where I am at, and they are not, and I’ll take that smiling, all day long..

I do NOT even use Fauna, as evident by my "profile" here.. I get animals directly, and that's that.. Whether I am producing them at my facility(ies), bringing them into the country myself, dealing with a breeder, or others in the research/zoological sector.. NONE of my transactions, have ever involved any classified ads.. I am here to help a friend.

The POINT of the matter is, I am VERY well-connected, and, I will break it down, slooowly, so that you understand this.. Facts, speak far louder than words; especially those spewed in Fauna.. Is it a point of jealousy perhaps; that I work with more species by 10am than you will work with in your lifetime..?

Or maybe now I'm just having fun, and playing your game..

My relevance in the herpetological field IS irrelevant in this matter, except that I am VERY well-connected.. SnakeFX has never been a large operation to begin with, and judging by the excuses, and lack of response, has probably cut their (his) losses, and disappeared with as many people’s money as they (he) could..

Steve owes Ryan a refund, and that much Laura and myself can agree on.. Though, she cannot seem to wrap her head around why my presence in the herpetological field IS RELEVANT in this particular transaction.. Because, if Ryan does not receive his refund in a timely matter, Steve will need all the excuses he can muster, to be able to sell cages again, large-scale, in the US.. Period; no disputing it..
