In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Just making sure this info is available in case the ad goes down.

It is an info thread....to make sure people are aware of how Steve is caring for his animals. It has everything to do with his character as a hobbyist or businessman in this industry.

People may also like to be aware of what they could be purchasing from him, the health and condition of the animals in question.

Not that I think anyone should give this guy money, but thats just my personal opinion.

Mainly...when he freaks out and removes his ad to try and hide his errors, the information will still be available to the public =)

How can someone put those pictures up in a sales ad???:ack2:

SO disgusting. What horrible living conditions these poor things are in.

A few others from another ad....just to show the full enclosures of course...these are saved images instead of screenshots.

such nice enclosures too....so much wasted space inside of them that could be filled with hides and substrate and WATER!! :shrug01:

I agree about the conditions and the need to be informed, but from the pictures its appears that Steve could be quiet young. I am hoping this is a case of significant inexperience and youthful lack of realization in regard to his animal husbandry.

Hopefully this is a situation that someone local to him can help him to correct.

Young or not...he dove into the hobby...and he dove in deep, that comes with responsibility...even as a child I knew how to properly care for animals...If something seemed wrong, I asked my parents (my parents would have murdered me if my animals looked like this)

If nothing seems wrong to him (judging by his lack of concern for even posting pics like these) we have a deeper issue then just him being young and inexperienced.

and if he is to young to know what the heck is going on....then who is making all the adult decisions such as buying, selling and housing these animals?

where the heck are kids parents these days

This is just sick. I agree, even when i was young I kept all my animals in wonderful conditions. I also didn't keep large snakes with little experience. Even now I don't have large snakes mainly due to lack of room, but people should think about what they are getting themselves into before it gets bad, like this.

I would like to note, since I forgot to add it to the thread title

Steve's username here on fauna is Reptile123

I am not disagreeing with anything that has been said; I just think that we all come from a little bit different places and so we make some different mistakes in our youth and sometimes don't understand the severity of our actions.

Accordingly, my question is this a situation where someone has knowingly been cruel, or is it something else?

Either way, I hope someone local can step in and help the animals!

Steve's friend feels the need to explain...mites as well apparently...hope they told the person who bought the snakes (if someone really did)

In this day of Internetting, there's absolutely no excuse for conditions like that. The fact of the matter is that if you are posting sale pics like THAT, you obviously have no idea that you're doing something wrong. Normal people aren't going to post a picture of them with the flu as their Match.com profile pic, why would you do that with your snakes you're trying to sell?

Clean up the shed, fill the dishes, wipe the glass down. Unless your plan is to show that you're selling mistreated animals, in which case, do -this-.
