In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry Steven Brenner Transaction

My own thought that followed, is that he has seen Chris being ridiculous and simply does not want to deal with that.

Reading their conversations, it seems like they're 100% equal in the popping off at the mouth department. Sticking to the deal, there's no reason to not pay for something you have decided to buy, and there's no excuse you or he can make to not come here, or call Chris, and agree to a deadline for payment. Anything else you say has nothing to do with the topic of this thread. The title is not correct, though. It should say refuses to pay, not theft. I've known Steven for 15 years, and he is no theif.

"does not want to deal with that"

The extent of my contact was to request that he come here and address the issues and make sure that the posts about the transaction reflect all of what happened. My own thought that followed, is that he has seen Chris being ridiculous and simply does not want to deal with that.

Steven Brenner and myself, went back and forth for many months, at times, we gave each other crap. I can sit here and post him mouthing off to me, just like he could sit here and post my mouthing off to him.

But as I indicated, the whole idea that Steven Brenner is not completing the transaction, because, of my actions. Is honestly, getting very old, and stagnant.

That is not why Steven Brenner has not paid, and should never be a reason, for one person to refuse payment to another, who is rightfully owed. Moreover, Lucille is the only person who continues to pursue such a claim.

The posts seem to antagonize, seem to be overly hostile, and often speaks like an authority. I assumed she was a moderator. I came on here with a legitimate claim, and I'm very happy with how this turned out. Most ppl seem reasonable and I feel like im getting the hang of things. If I had the authority to ban Lucille coming on here, and anntagonizing situations, and just downright throwing fuel on fires, I would ban her. But since I do not have that authority - troll on Lucille, troll on!

The backbone of the BOI are those who participate.

I'm surprised that you are using a scammer tactic such as criticizing BOI participation, Chris.
But maybe I shouldn't be. Although I have agreed with others that you are owed your turtle, you seem bent on hiding some of the problems you created that happened during this transaction. When they are brought up, you deflect.

I think you wish that all of your past and present mistakes could be swept under the rug, out of sight, while you try to sell turtles (your current turtle listed for sale on Fauna is priced at over $2,000).
I think prospective buyers should be able to see what has occurred in the past, and then make an informed decision on whether to spend that much money.

Little bit of advise sir....do NOT try to make this personal, that is a surefire way to antagonise those you are seeking to placate.
People are always going to look at past actions and previous threads, people are human after all.
And tbh so far you are still looking like a trainwreck that neither I or many others reading your recent exploits would feel comfortable dropping 2k on any animal from you with.
Stand back, take a deep breath and relax, make your actions speak for you, leave the keyboard for a while if you cannot resist rising to the bait.
Good luck!

Yeah, ignore the camandos trying to bait you into responding, and they'll crawl back under their rocks.

I'll say this first: I don't know either party in this transaction, and I can sort of see both sides. When making a trade for as yet unhatched animals, you have to be open to the possibility that things may turn out differently than you both first planned. I think that is where things broke down - the original deal wasn't going to work out and without a prior agreement to return the turtle or pay in cash, it leaves one party trying to work out a trade while the other is waiting for either animals or cash. I can see the frustration on both sides.

Now I will say this: no one has attacked you Chris, only asked you to post the texts, which you finally did (after several requests). Lucille may ask pointed questions, but they are fair questions, and relevant to the situation. She also calls people out on their behavior when they are trying to avoid answering appropriate questions and using diverting tactics to manipulate the situation. Trying to paint her as some kind of trolling bad guy because you don't like the questions is ridiculous and unfair. The BOI works because everyone can post and the whole community has a voice. We can see how people respond and treat one another. People who have previously shown themselves poorly (as you have) still don't deserve to be scammed - but don't expect to waltz back in here and have everyone take your word as gospel. Be prepared to present your evidence, and don't play the victim and whine about supposed unfair treatment here.

While I hope that you either get your turtle back, get a fair payment, or a fair deal, I do not like or appreciate it when people come to the BOI without a good understanding of it, make assumptions, and attack other posters for asking questions. And people don't get banned for asking questions and posting their opinions....this isn't facebook - you don't get to ban people that aren't "friends" with you.

I took my time and i read your post very carefully, I believe I understand. I fully admit that I need to learn to take a punch below the belt from time to time without flying off the handle.

Your advice and input is appreciated, I will refrain from further posts, in hopes the turtle makes her way back to her rightful owner, if not, I can pursue her, but who knows to what cost? and who knows to what avail?

So, yes, I am owed a turtle, but. It is what it is? Maybe it will help some other guy down the road who reads our posts and is more careful about dealing with Steven Brenner.

I am not wired to steal, my material make-up, DNA, wont allow me to brazinly rob a bank, or just blantantly not pay for another persons animal. Steven Brenner is made up differently, thats all.

Thank you for the advice, its much appreciated,

Your Friend,
Chris Davis

It seems this thread went silent. I was just curious if Steven Brenner has fulfilled his end of the transaction on this. I'm hoping there has been some sort of resolution reached?

I've been biting my tongue, I was beginning to think nobody would ever ask. The update is that all contact has gone quiet, no resolution has been offered. The promises that get made by Steven Brenner are broken, without hesitation.

Basically I have been scammed by Steven Brenner, everyone is welcome to paint is whatever color they see fit, but at the end of the day, I was deceived.

-from Chris Davis

That is exactly what I was hoping I would not hear. I was scammed early on while buying turtles and had no means to resolve it. What I enjoy about this board is that it actually gives you a great avenue to reach a good conclusion for both parties involved. I've heard great things about Steven from other people. And I know your character personally and can vouch for you. I would hope you both could work everything out and reach an amicable conclusion to this. What was the last step you took to resolve this, Chris? No reply from Steven?

I'm glad you read my post Chris, and took it in the spirit in which it was intended. A feeling of being wronged or scammed provokes most people into being highly upset, so I get that. I think it's good to step away for a bit and gather your wits, as you've done. It's good for your blood pressure, if nothing else, right?

So Steven hasn't made good on the cash yet, or a trade deal? That is frustrating. At the end of the day, if he owes you he should make good on that. Even if he is irritated with the thread, it doesn't reflect well on him to leave you without resolution.

I'm happy about feedback, and although at first, I had mixed feelings about the BOI, I've become more educated on many different variables. So I've been on the BOI long enough now to have made plenty of mistakes, and have plenty of learning curves. But also just feel like I have learned a lot with regards to the reptile industry overall.

I'm not a person that carries the attitude that I'm right and that's final, I realize that attitude adjustments are necessary for all of us, so that we can become better and wiser.

Anyway, Lucille, you've been very vocal and provided unlimited advice on my faults and how I can improve.

So let me ask Lucille, what is the most ethical, honest, and moral avenue for me to bring about possible resolution with Steven Brenner, he has completely refused to communicate, all his deadlines passed, and all promises are broken.

And Others, please provide me feedback. Please excuse typos, using IPhone

Let me get this straight.

You have threatened Nick, insulted me, illegally shipped a turtle, aggravated your seller, fraudulently used a chargeback with Paypal, lied about planning to see a judge, and in general enthusiastically created a situation that is FUBAR, you owe multiple people abject apologies for your unbelievable behavior which you have not even begun to address, and you are asking me to step in and use my skill, experience, etc. to fix this for you?

Yes, correct, despite any of my shortcomings, I am asking for your superior skills, experience, etc, to help rectify an actual occurrence of deception, where property was actually stolen.

Lucille, let me ask, because your answers are varied, does any of my shortcomings. Of which you have obsessively pummeled me about, do they justify this theft, or not?

Your answers, seem furious, but also are not consistent. Is the theft justified?

Thank You,
Chris Davis

May I add, another thread existed with regards to my shortcomings, and it eventually died out over time, and I continue to educate myself on the BOI, I understand that Lucille is not a moderator.

But why are we having some trouble staying on topic of the thread, why does attention constantly get diverted in another direction.

What about my, turtle that was acquired through promises and deception, and misleading promises?

Regardless of my shortcomings, I just though with so many opionions, this thread would not die out, after Steven Brenner acquired the turtle with deception, and had refused to offer any resolution.

This Steven Brenner heist was about as Brazil and bold, as a theft can get.

Lucille,

Despite whatever shortcomings, let me clarify, that I stand my my chargebacks 100%, as a matter of fact, after PayPal investigates, they may or may not allow another $1500.00 worth of chargebacks, assuming Steven Brenner makes no action to correct this.

Also, when I go before the judge, he might laughs me out the door so hard, that my shirt blows off. They might laugh me out on to the street. However, they may not?

One thing is for sure, they will not use my PayPal chargebacks, and/or shipping by post office, and say "oh, well, this is a justified Felony crime". I mean, seriously, your obviously not sticking to the thread, but I only see Lucille on here, defending the crime at hand.

Also, I can contact my credit company for help also, since I paid PayPal with them, so long as I am honest, it's up to them to say yes, or no. But this way I would possibly recoup $1500.00 of the loss. If they tell me no, at least I tried to recover some of the funds lost in the Steven Brenner Transaction Heist. Thank You, have a good one guys
