In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

well i posted a question three days ago to ask about how long i had till my female would probably lay since she had just started digging and everybody said a couple of hours to two days. well my girl is STILL digging. she has managed to shove most of her vermiculite out of her hide. should i put some of the vermiculite back into her hide or just leave it like it is? also is it normal for them to dig for this long? she is definately pregnant, this is her first time, and she hasnt eaten in six days but last night i did notice her eating from her calcium dish. any suggestions or help would be great. this is my first time having a pregnant leo too so i just want everything to be ok.

Thank you,
Justin Lambert

yes go ahead and refill the box and cleanup so she doesnt lay outside the box.

SOme leo's will dig constantly even when not gravid. So she may just be a digger and not completely ready to lay

I agree with Scott, just fix the lay box back up and she should lay soon and you don't want her to make a mistake and lay out of the box.

Also first timers often take much longer to lay than experienced breeders.

Digging Leo

I do have one female that digs constantly- gravid or not.
I would clean up after her and hopefully she will lay very soon. i agree with the previous post in that a first timer seems to take quite a bit longer to "prep-dig" and then finally lay. You might also try moving her lay box to another area of the cage. It may be too warm or not warm enough. Hope this helps. Good luck!

thank you for the suggestions. i cleaned up some of the vermiculite and filled back up the hide. hopefully she will lay soon so i can relax a little. she is definately gravid and has never been a digger before.
thanks,
Justin

eric,
i am almost positive that she is gravid as she is showing all of the signs and i put her in with one of my males a little over 2 weeks ago. i can see what looks to be eggs and she has also not eaten in a while and i have never had any trouble feeding her before. she is the most aggresive eater that i own.
thanks for the suggestion though.
Justin

agreed

Wendy is right, first time mothers seem to grag the process out a little longer. Funny, because i have a female that doesn't dig a whole lot just before she lays, but digs for several days afterwards!
