In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Well, this isn't looking like a good week for us Floridians. We've got 2 hurricane/tropical storms... Bonnie headed for the panhandle, and Charley straight up the east coast... and possibly towards Daytona.

I'm driving up there (Daytona, Friday afternoon), and know that a hurricane will likely deter me from going... how do you all think Charley is going to affect Daytona, and will 'he' determine what you do? I know talking to some breeder friends that they are leaving a day early.

Well, I'll be watching the weather... this could turn out interesting.

storms

im going sunday to buy so charlie will be long gone and bonnie isnt going near daytona so but charlie will go right through daytona early saturday morning
hopefully charlie doesnt hit tampa

At this point, it look slike Charley will head up the west coast of FL.... On the report they were telling everyone to head east, like to Daytona ;) I think we'll be fine.

Well I'm in tampa right off the bay, and they are now saying it is going to hit daytona head on right after it hits us. It should only be a class1 when it gets to daytona. I wish this damm storm hit last week or next.I'v been saving up for daytona for four months, but now I'm stuck at home.(I flood bad so I need to be here) May-be next year.........

Have fun and get a good deal for me!!!!

For those of you who don't know about it, here's a storm tracking page for Hurricane Charley:

Hurricane Charley Storm Track

If it swings further west and heads towards Tallahassee, then that would mean I would have to stay home. But at least it looks like it is going to miss hitting Daytona Beach directly.

Driving to the show on Saturday morning won't be a picnic, however. If you can, get there on Friday and spend the night somewhere closeby.

it sucks,

its headed right towards me Tampa Bay area but I got the Heineken and were playing poker maybe ill have more$$ for Daytona

Hurricane party!!!

Maybe if anyone else is in daytona at moment maybe we can get together im staying at the la quinta like a quarter of a mile from the expo.

Any word on whether or not the expo will be opening on time tomorrow? We're supposed to drive over from Pinellas, following Charley over so-to-speak. Called the venue's hotline and the recorded message didn't have any info.

As of 9:30 PM

According to the DB News website,as of 9:30PM they were NOT ordering any evacuations from the coast,so looks ok from a convention center stand point so far.

SATURDAY - SHOW IS A GO

I am working at the Daytona Expo and I am heading that way now (1 hr drive).

I just spoke to people there and their is power and the show is a go. I also spoke to someone who drove over from Lake County and she had no problems getting through.

Tracey

I came up from Broward without a problem... only thing was all the McDonald's along the way were without power, but the show was great!

Getting over there turned out to be no problem. It took us a little under 3 hours all-told from Pinellas. Getting back was a bit more difficult. I4 is not a good road under normal travel conditions, let's just say 160,000 extra evacuees returning home made things a bit unbearable. But, 6 hours after we left for home, we're back.

Got 3 wonderful new additions to the family. I'll post pics later. The snakes are tired and stressed after being confined in tupperware for a couple of days, and I'm tired and stressed after the ride home. The show was well worth the trouble though.
