In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I had a recent situation with “Aquarium Stuffers” in Atlanta that needs to be shared on this forum.

I called last week—Thursday or Friday--- and purchased one of their Blood Pythons. (I had done my homework on this forum, and this company seemed to have a good reputation.) The fellow taking my order was very kind and professional, and I paid with a credit card. I asked him to send the animal the following Wednesday for Thursday arrival. He told me they offer a live arrival and a 2-day guarantee.

Over the weekend I looked at photos of the Blood again, and noticed that it appeared to have a kink at the tip of its tail. It was hard to tell, because the snake was posed on a rock with its tail curled down a bit.

SO- Monday morning I called Aquarium Stuffers, got an answering machine, and left a message asking about whether the snake has a tail kink. I shared my phone number and asked for a call back.

Monday afternoon, no response. I then e-mailed the following message:

“I left a phone message earlier, and thought it would be good to follow-up by e-mail as well...

I have purchased a Blood Python from you that is scheduled to arrive on Thursday. After looking over the picture of the animal since calling to order it, I have a question about whether the snake has a kink at the tip of its tail. It may simply be an illusion caused by the stone on which the snake is displayed, but if the snake does have a kink in its tail, I would like to cancel my order and get a credit on my credit card. Hopefully the snake is 100%... it is a great looking animal-

Thanks much-
Jim Lineberger”

Tuesday--- no response to my phone call or e-mail. I called Aquarium Stuffers again, told them to please call me about the snake.

Wednesday---no response. Finally, Wednesday evening I called again and left a message, then sent another e-mail:

"This is my fifth try at getting someone to resond to my questions about an animal I ordered. It is a Blood Python that was supposed to be delivered tomorrow (Thursday the 24th). After ordering the snake, I noticed in the photo that there might be a kink in its tail, and wanted clarification on this.
I have now called three times and this is my second e-mail to you, but no one will respond. I also have no idea whether you have shipped the snake, since I have not received any notice of this from you.

Please respond as soon as you get this e-mail. My phone is ####.

Jim Lineberger"

I then called the credit card company. Good news: no charges have been filed by Aquarium Stuffers.

Thursday---no response. No snake. No charges on my credit card. No more dealing with Aquarium Stuffers. I am fortunate I don't have to battle over any incurred expenses.

Perhaps they were ticked-off about my possible cancellation of the order? Or maybe they didn’t want to admit that they were trying to sell a snake with a kink in its tail?

Anyhow, this is the kind of information I want to know when I am looking to deal with a company.

It is odd to me how lazy some sellers have gotten in regards to customer service...whenever I return a phone call or an email, I get some gushing response about how suprised they are that I cared enough to get a hold of them !!!
It sucks when no one returns your messages...even if it was going to be negative, at least you would have known !

When it comes to seperating the men from the boys in the industy is communication. If you are dealing with a legit buisness, you should expect communication during normal buisness hours.Ask yourself this,if they do not respond to email or phone, who is taking care of the animals that are for sale?

You can let slide a day or two of silence from a breeder/hobbyist,but when a legit, supposedly tax paying buisness ignores you,run away.

Look at this fella Chris Johnson above me^

Although I have never bought anything from him, look at his profile.Lots of contact info, seems to have an attitude, but a great reputation for healthy animals and good customer service after the sale. You might want to hit him up for some Blood info, like availability.

I personally don't care for the name"Aquarium Stuffers" and when pressed for the need for a new animal,it never hurts to buy from someone in the community.

I have a similar reaction to Andy's and have never been attracted to them because of their name. I think I'd also keep an eye on the credit card to make sure they don't try to sneak a charge on there. These days, after a bad experience with someone I trusted, I can be pretty cynical about some of these guys.
