    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi, I just got my first baby leos at a reptile show last month. They are both dong really well, eating and making themselves at home. My daughter has an adult leo for around 3 years now and I decided I wanted to try breeding, so bought a male and another female. Well the little girl is a jungle and just the cutest! But I noticed a strange brown spot on her back. It is nearly the same color as the ones on her legs, but the feal of it is wrong. Its like, indented or someting, not like the normal smooth with bumps like the rest of her. She just shed yesterday and I took these pics. The spot stayed. I cant remember if she had it when I bought her or not. Its not flakey like a scab or seepy like a wound, but its also just not quite right. What do you think? If it was on her belly or something I would say it was a burn, but on her back? I have an undertank heater, and I've never seen a leo lay on their backs! Im not sure what to do, or does it look normal to you?

OH and I forgot to say that they are both living on newspaper with vermiculite in their moist hides. The heat mat was runing a little high when I first got it going, then I put in more layers of newspaper to diffuse the heat and its in the 80s on the hot side now, but they where in there when it was like 100 on top of the mat. Still, how would it get on her back? (And that was corrected the very next day when I saw how high it had gotten) Just a worried mommie.

Beautiful little jungle/stripe!!! Occasionally, geckos will develop a 'freckle' of melanin in a place where there originally was none, and it's nothing to worry about. On some patternless or blizzards it is sometimes referred to as a paradox.

I agree with Marcia. Leos colors and patterns are constantly changing even into adulthood so it’s nothing to worry about. BTW she’s very nice!!

i agree that a spot should be nothing to worry about but she says its more of a colored indention.

you said you "they both live on newspaper" so they are housed together right? i would guess it to be a bruise from being bit. i keep all my leos separate all the time (i know Marcia keeps hers together all year long successfully tho) and this allows me to hold off breeding till i feel their ready.

either way i dont see it as any cause for alarm, just keep an eye out for changes.

btw: i know u didnt ask for my opinion on this but i switched from verm in my moist hides to coconut fiber due to my Raya eating the verm and am very happy with the switch. (i made the switch thanks to advice on this forum)

almost forgot, nice jungle, good luck on your future breeding project!

They both live in the same 10 gal, but it is divided so they have no contact. He is about twice her little bit size and I know they have to be similar size to live together. That and she would get no food as he is such a pig! hehe

Thanks all for the compliments! I think shes a doll too :) Thanks for putting my mind at ease.
