    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Stricter controls for new registrations.

But the exact OPPOSITE has taken place. Registrations jumped from 15 to 25 per day to 24 to 48 per day! I still have some that are blocked because of issues with the registration info provided, but I changed the email sent to the rejectees explaining what is needed for compliance, and many will come back with the registration info corrected.

Makes sense to me, for all the fun and warpedness this site attracts people who are serious about their animals and seem to be more discriminating about who they purchase or take advise from (or who have learned the hard way to be). By showing an open and proactive effort to make this site a safer place to both buy and play you've increased it's attractiveness.

Transparency in businesses practices has been shown to be increasingly important to consumers regardless of the product. Not only have you followed this policy since before there was even an industry term for it now you're actively trying to ensure that others on this site do the same, at least with the basics.
 
Lately I have been getting a rash of new registrations who feel that providing their phone number within the Location field prompt will suffice. Sorry, but that just is not so. Those are simply rejected, and the registration record deleted.

Oh, by the way, I fully realize that someone can register using their TRUE location and then edit it later to show a false one. If such a practice is noticed, the member will get infraction points accordingly. Buyers and sellers are strongly encouraged to verify the information provided within the profile field of the member they are considering doing business with. If that info does not match reality, then PLEASE notify a moderator about the discrepancy and consider carefully about doing business with someone who is attempting to be anonymous by utilizing false information here. It's YOUR money or YOUR merchandise that is at risk. We are attempting to help you, but cannot help much if you don't do YOUR part in this.
