    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I was very excited about this clutch hatching.

Stripe h. Anery x Anery Stripe

Wonderful sex ratio too, which will make my life easier!

2.1 Stripe h. Anery
2.2 Anery Stripe (1.0 of which I'm keeping)

Congrats!! That red stripe is so cool looking, you are rockin' and rollin' how many eggs have you hatched out this year? How many to go?

Let's see...

6 clutches hatched so far (56 babies @ 100% hatch success)

3 clutches to go (36 eggs)

Plus I purchased a new Anery Stripe female 2 months ago and paired her with the same male that fathered this clutch. It's a bit late in the season, so I'm not keeping my hopes up for a clutch from her...But it would be nice. :)

Very cool, that all seems to add up to a good year of breeding. Congrats!!

NICE Corns TripleMoons! I have a fetish for polka dots, where are the polka dots!! Not being smart, just picking! Now I just have a curious question here, but do you have those pink Corns?? An if so for how much all together to send me one in Ohio?? I think Jakers needs a nice pink play mate! *Wink wink* I mean there are a LOT of babies I just can't afford, but Corn Snakes are so ridiculously easy to care for. I can fit in another.

Hhhmmmm, or maybe those pretty ghost lookin ones in the pic?? That or I have had my eyes on Sunkissed FOREVER! I'm kinda leaning towards pink though. I have NO clue why. I'm not a big pink fan or anything, but a pink animal! WOW! HHmmmm??

I'll have Motleys (Polka-Dot ones) next year. Amels, Butters, Caramels, Lavenders & Snows (Motleys). You can check out my website to see what I have available and what's expected from the last 2 clutches. :)

What are the genetics for Snows, and Charcoals then?? How far from wild are they? Inbreed?

I'm not sure what your referring to with this statement...

How far from wild are they?

As far as Snows & Charcoals, they are completely different mutations.

Snow = Simple Recessive Amel x Anery
Charcoal = Single Simple Recessive

No, I remember people talking about the wild genes, the original genes. I guess just how do the Snows get those genes, where do they come from? Does that make any sense?? If not forget about it, I have no clue what I'm talking about then.

Their is no such thing as a wild "gene." A normal cornsnake ("wild-type" or "classic" sometimes you will see them called to) has no mutation genes.

A Charcoal for example has 2 copies of the Charcoal mutation which causes the coloration. 1 copy of the mutation would be a Normal het for Charcoal (as you need both copies to express the mutation).

A Snow has 2 copies of the Anery gene & 2 copies of the Amel gene to produce the Snow mutation.

The alternative term for gene is Allele (which is more commonly used).

Here is a direct link to the Genetics & Morph section of the FAQ which should help answer more of your questions...

http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showpost.php?p=380426&postcount=4

And here is a direct quote from it on Normals...

Q: What is the 'wild-type'?
A: The wild type phenotype is the most common phenotype found in the wild population. The wild type allele is the allele at each locus that is required to produce the wild type phenotype. There are thousands of loci in the corn snake genome, and there is a wild type allele at each locus. If a gene is not expressly identified, it is assumed to be wild type.

Basically this is saying that every part of a Cornsnakes DNA is "normal" unless it contains an allele from a morph.

WOW, WOOH! I never passed Biology. I understood like not a lot of that. Wow, nevermind. Its kinda boring to, maybe cause I don't understand it. Does anybody ever talk about them like there their kids. Genetics is very popular.

To help leigh.,

For a snow to happen.Ther had to be amel & anery. Both of these have decended from animals that were wild caught (even the charcoal, anery "B").So,I would imagine that each of these morphs were bred for awhile before they were mixed to make a snow(amel X anery)even blizzard(amel X charcoal). So that being said many morphs we see today are very far away from being wild.I would love to catch a wild blue corn!? :laugh:
