    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello all, I'm Michael, currently in the crummy-butt state of Washington, missing being able to go road-cruising for herps in Oklahoma (especially WDB rattlers, which we'd rescue from TOGSDS* folk who liked to run 'em over on purpose - I swear if I had ever actually caught one of those low-lifes red-handed my butt would be on death row right now :blowup:).

*The Only Good Snake is a Dead Snake

My herp collection is pathetic and run-of-the-mill at the moment with an Okeetee corn, a Western hognose snake and a Russian tortoise. That should soon change :dgrin:

These forums are entertaining to read and look pretty darn useful, so what the heck. Here I am!

:wavey:

Very interesting intro' you have, welcome aboard. There's lots to read & learn here & with the classifieds, your collection will definitely grow. I speak from experience (bought a few from here since joining)! Oh, and have fun while browsing.

In your first post, you deem cornsnakes (the owner of this board had cornsnakes as a biz for decades) hognoses and Russian tortoises as a pathetic collection, others might be happy and proud to have these guys. And you hit the state of Washington, which I hear is beautiful in places.

Welcome. I predict you are in for a ride here. :rofl:

Welcome Michael.
Russian torts are awesome! One of my favs! Do you have a male or fem? I have never been to washington state but I am looking at it for vetschool. Is it really that bad there? :)

Thanks guys!

To clarify, I merely meant that the size of my collection was pathetic, not my animals. My herps are my babies! Kellysballs, my Russian tort is a female named Miss Honey. She's a sweetheart!

Re: Washington, it's crummy to me merely because I'm used to the sunshine and wider variety of wild herps to be found in Oklahoma. The scenery is actually quite beautiful here, and I did find an alligator lizard so things aren't really that bad :D
