Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Just a suggestion but i think we should have one every tuesday. That way if someone can't make it to the one tuesday. Then they dont have to wait another month to join in and chat. I've only attended one of the chats and it was great! I enjoyed it and was just thinking we should have it more often so people wont have to wait another month to join in.
 
I'm not sure about every tuesday...but maybe the 1st and 3rd tuesdays of each month or something of that fashion would work. I know I pretty much always work the 1st tuesday of each month, which causes me to miss most if not all of the chats, which is kinda crappy at times. A thought anyway... I know those corn snake fellas chat every night, lol.
 
I belong to alot of groups and it is a standing practice at many of them to post on the message board when someone wants to chat and is in the chatroom.
Sometimes this turns into more of a showing of members than on the regularly scheduled nights.
An open chat policy with a couple of scheduled "Chat Nights" per month might be an alternative.

Since I posted the POLL on chat night, there was quite a bit of interest in doing it on Sunday night. However, if you combine the votes for Tuesday along with the 'It doesn't matter' group, it looks like we will just continue to have the regularly scheduled chat on the first Tuesday of each month just like always. This does not mean that we can't have chat any other time in addition to that time! I agree that once a month is probably not frequent enough, and we can certainly be flexible to accomodate the majority of us.

What about doing it the first Tuesday of each month (like we have been doing) and add a Sunday night each month? Also, the chat room is always open, so you can post it on the forum to let others know there is an 'impromptu' chat going on at any time!

That sounds like a good idea Marcia. Maybe with the Sunday chat make the time a little earlier. I know the one on Tuesday gets a little late for them east coasters. :)
 
I work every other sun..but if it was a bit earlier, maybe 7Est...then that would be cool. Good idea.

Thats a good idea and all but im just trying to get a weekly chat going. Even though it is always open, people are never there; except for the cornsnake people. isntead of just posting and wasting threads on the forums, wouldnt it be easier just to say: There will be a chat on every Tuesday at this time. That way people can decide what they want to talk (make a list of topics) and get instant answers than wait for people to answer their questions (almost instand answers =Þ ).

If we do a weekly chat on the same night of the week, then it would still be difficult for many of the folks that cannot do it on that night. Also, keep in mind that on Tuesdays even though 9:00 is a little late for those on the East Coast, here on the West Coast we are just barely getting home from work!

I guess I could post another poll to see how often we all should have chat night...
 
we could have one first week = tuesday, second week = thursday, third week = saterday, fourth week = sunday. Then we see how many people came when, and then we do for example, first week is sunday, second week is tuesday, third week is sunday, fourth week is tuesday. and we keep it like. Then people wont miss it every month, just every other week. Sounds like a good idea to me.
