• Responding to email notices you receive.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

SULCATA TORTOISE

A couple more pics

The first is the 'official' measuring. The second is the "What are you lookin' at?" pose...

Updated photos of PAT

At 3 wks, Pat was 2 1/8 inches long and weighed in at 40 grams.

Now, at about 2 months, Pat weighs in at 50 grams & has grown to almost 2 1/8 inches long!

Who knew a tort could be such an awesome pet?!

I have two Sulcattas that are still kept indoors since they are small, I also have a desert tortoise, my desert tortoise has a large outdoor pen area fenced off with black rod iron ornamental fencing, we hammered in metal stakes every couple inches around the perimater of his pen to keep him from digging under his pen. When the Sulcatta baby's are bigger we will build a very large pen for them using cinder blocks and hammer re-barb in around the perimater every couple inches several feet down to prevent them from digging out. I think that would be a lot less exspensive than burying blocks or pouring cement.
I sure do love my tortoises though, they are very cool pets.

Oh, by the way Pat is very cute! One of mine has extra scutes too, but it makes it easy to figure out who's who.

Thanks. I'm looking forward to building Pat's outside pen. I've figured out what I want, now I just need to figure out where to put it...
