Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Its my b day today - 23 and my girlfirned got me a tortoise. I dunno what kind he is - how to take care of him etc. I have him in a 20 gallon long tank he is supposedly a year old and have a 60w heat lamp and a uvb - and have him on these little rabbit pellot things that the pet shop told my girlfriend. Now I have 2 beardies and 2 corn snakes and know pet stores usually dont know much about them but apparently this pet store is highly reccomended and she drive 2 hours to get him for me. Also he has black stuff on the corner of his mouth and looks like he is shedding? around his eye brow - normal? after looking at pics this looks totally noirmal! I dont know symptoms for sickness but want to make sure he is ok. I think he is a sulcata? he looks identicle to my friends which is - i think?! I know he will not stay in this tank for long - just koved house so he can have a back yard soon! Also I know they are supposed to eat like crazy - he does eat but not that much - not as much as I thought anyway. Also what should I feed him? hay? He is also hyper - loves to run around

Looks like a sulcata to me, but i have no ideas on the black things by his mouth corners, pics are too blurry to tell. hmm... okay, he has some small slight pyramiding which is not good but that's not your fault. that is because he has been eating the wrong diet in the past, very common mistakes with these torts... here, try this site and see if it helps out. www.sulcata-station.org. please read up and give your lil tort a good home, i also own one, they are awesome animals man. congrats ;) -Art-
 
yes, Sulcata for sure. Now I don't know if you realize this but they eat their own poop. This may be what you see in and on his mouth. If you just google Sulcata you will be able to find out everything you need to know about them. good luck
