In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry Sunshine Serpents

If anyone wants the snake its in the classified section.
If anyone has anything pertinent to add to this post, feel free to do so. If anyone just wants to beat their chest, please take it somewhere else.
Just let this thread have some sort of value. Be careful when you are buying. Use reviews as a guideline but don't put total faith in them. Ask as many questions as you need in order to feel comfortable. If you feel comfortable that you know what you are getting, by all means proceed. If there is anything that doesn't seem right about the deal, or if there are any unanswered questions, look for another animal.
That should be the big lesson learned here.
Thank god for those words of wisdom. I'll write them down so I don't forget. Don't forget to research that whole shipping ordeal in case someone answers your ad.

Seth, have you put the snake in a smaller enclosure yet? You had mentioned that she was not eating regularly, but only a scented pinkie, and many have recommended you put her in a small cage, which I highly agree with, as well.

No discern. She is showing no signs of being stressed and is now eating. I appreciate your advice and I hope you are not offended but I don't think the smaller enclosure is necessary.
Even though she has plenty of cover including plenty of burrowing space she rarely uses it. She's usually out exploring.
Obviously if she was stressed by the size of the enclosure she wouldn't take advantage of the extra space. She's a typical north American rat in the aspect that she spends more time out b exploring than she does hiding.

204 posts and I'm still astonished that someone sees a photo of a Yellow Ratsnake with obviously juvenile coloration and is then shocked it is not near adult size.

Daniel is a good guy with nice animals.

that would astonish me as well. Like you said it shows obvious juvenile coloration. Can't say if anyone else was shocked that it wasn't adult size. I never even expected it to be close to adult size. Just didn't expect it to be close to hatchling size either.

Having hatched 100's of colubrids, I can tell you for sale animals are fed a maintenance diet. They don't sell quickly, and I need them to stay in small accommodations. My suggestion is to buy from someone selling a pet they no longer want rather than a reputable breeder. That animal will have had it's mouse every seven days, rather than 1 every 14-20 days.

Some breeders do maintenance feed their babies/animals for sale, but not all breeders do that. I feed the babies I intend to sell on the exact same schedule that my personal animals are fed on, and I know a number of other breeders who do the same.
Some want to feed the babies up, so they start showing their color, to be able to sell them faster.

Heather I am a little bit familiar with your collection, it is pretty mixed. The math can work. When breeding a lot of staple basic snakes like normal corns kings and rats the math turns sour really fast.

Can I just say, I loves me some BOI? Nothing better!

I stopped reading poomwah's ridiculousness ages back, but now that I'm all caught up...

As soon as I get a better idea on the direction we are going next year- IM BUYING FROM SUNSHINE in the next couple months!

I'll echo Lloyd: Daniel is a good guy with good snakes. I truly feel sorry for him having to deal with that customer.
