    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Super Champagne - post shed

From what I've read theres seems to be a link that white snakes are more inclined to have genetic problems linked to a decrease in melanin. Not sure how true that is but supposedly malanin plays a role in developing the brain.

What connection is there between incubation/development time and neurological problems? Why would slower development decrease chances for problems? Logically, I don't see any sort of connection between the two. Is there evidence of a correlation elsewhere?

As far as I KNOW, there isn't a link... My logic behind it is that IF the problem is developmental, and the snake has more time to develop proper neuronal connections, perhaps it COULD alleviate some of the problem...

Granted, it probably isn't a hypothesis worth testing, considering there HASN'T been a link shown (that I know of), and the cost (financially, emotionally, etc) greatly outweighs the benefits...

This doesn't make sense to me. If that were true, then albinos and leucistics would tend to have more problems than other morphs, but I haven't noticed any trend to that effect. (Not to say the trend doesn't exist just because I haven't noticed, but it should show up at least occasionally, I would think.)

Bah! I think most--if not all--hypotheses are worth testing! Some of the coolest, most surprising results in science come from people trying something no one else wanted to take the time to do! :-]

Well it had something to do with neuromelanin in the brain correlating with the melanin in the skin but I'm not sure I'm not a scientist just passing on what I've read. Neuromelanin by the way is what does something to the nerves in the brain to cause movement etc. but like I said I don't know.
