Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Supers (For Abby)

Looks very similar to the "trick" to me. I would suggest doing a pairing with a black pastel and see what happens. :) Deborah, as more and more morphs begin to be found, more and more of them are going to look 'normal' or like other morphs. Its just going to happen because only so much that can be done when it comes to animal genes. :) More and more new morphs look pretty frickin normal to me. Specials, spectors, Ben siegals new morph (cant remember the name), so, so forth. What matters is what happens when combined with other genes. :)

I wish I had a big Black Pastel girl ready this year! So I'll have to settle for my Cinnamon ;) That was my first hunch when I got my male Huffman. I tried them this past season but it didn't take - she is much bigger now and should go this season... Very exciting to see the outcome.

Right, look at Specters, YBs, Specials, Sentinels, Orange Dreams... A lot of these morphs look normalish but can produce good looking combos and/or supers. IMO the Huffman super is one of the coolest snakes I've seen, and beats out even the nicest Black Pastels. If Black Pastels on the market today looked even half as nice as a Super Huffman my entire collection would be filled with them  I love Black Pastels, just saying not many can compete. Besides, a super with pattern can be much more useful than a solid snake. It all depends on your projects and what you like.

Very interesting project Chris. I really like the look of the Supers. I especially like the fact that they have pattern which of course is lacking in the Black Pastels and Cinnys. Best of luck with them.
That's what I like too - the fact you can keep some pattern (lots of pattern!) with this morph instead of having everything covered up by a solid colored super. It all depends on what your goals are, obviously this isn't a gene for those who like less pattern. If you like pattern though these guys are a no brainer.

Chris,
I'm curious about the genetics....
Has a "super" x normal pairing been done yet? "super" x "super"?

Not yet. The only super that was breed able was a female. I tried to pair her up with a firefly and nothing happened, although she has been tightly coiled around her water dish which is kind of different for her so I thought about palpating her but haven't yet. Now that I've got some more supers including two males it might help some of this along.

:iagree:
I can't wait to see what you all do with the super huffman, and what you combine them with. Do you have plans for next year already or are they top secret? :D

Well, best of luck to those spearheading this project!

I would like to see more done with this morph though, particularly a super x normal pairing, a Huffman x black pastel/cinny, and a Huffman x pastel. Seems to me that those 3 pairings would be crucial to validating this project(in the opinion of those not working with it). Beautiful snake no doubt.

This coming season I will be pairing the Huffman with a Spider, a Cinnamon, possibly the Lesser again, and I have a few dinkers I'm considering putting him with. Will be interesting  Next season I'll be using the Lesser Huffman and once the females are up to size I plan to make some Super Huff Lessers.

You should see the female black pastel ringer that's about to come out of her egg!! She's smokin! Agree with the black pastel thing. So hard to get decent ones these days. That's why ill never part with my black pastel male that was a buddies I was using on a breeder loan but he offered him to me. His babies are hot!

Well, best of luck to those spearheading this project!

I agree. I love the huffmans and the supers. Some of the combos aren't what I was expecting though. Can't wait to see more!!

What's the status of this project? I'm interested to see what has become of some of the pairings...

Last year between David, Abby, and myself we produced crosses with Yellow Belly (me), Hypo (David and me), Lesser (Abby and me), more Supers (me), Hypo Butter (David). I think most of them are pictured in various threads in this forum.

This year I've got eggs cooking from a Lemon Blast Het Hypo male to a Super female (due to hatch about 7/20), and that same male to one of the hets (due to hatch about 8/2) and I should get eggs any day now from a Pin Cross female to a male so a shot at Pin Supers. Think David has a breeding loan with one of his girls to a black pastel male and now Ben Renick has a few that he's working with as well.

I've been reducing my collection, I'm down to 29 animals and of that 29, 22 are visuals, visual crosses, or supers. A few other people have obtained some either from myself, Abby, or David so I'm not sure what those people may be working on.

Thanks.
