In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Maybe it's just me, but roaches are cute and cuddly compared to these monster superworms! (I wanted roaches, but I got vetoed, so I picked up some superworms.)

What size superworms do you feed to adult leos? These 2in worms look like they could eat my leos. ;)

Yeah they are mean lookin guys but they are gentle at heart :).

I do not tend to feed the full grown supers yet as my leos are still young. If yours are full grown then by all means let 'em have it.

As for getting vetoed for roaches...I say you cast a revote!

Its a bug, its a meal, its SUPERWORM!

My full grown leos LOVE full grown supers! There is something satisfying when you hear them crunching the supers up. I too was nervous when I started with the supers, but all mine love them with no problems.

Thanks!

I'm sure my 110g male will love them. They are so much more active than the mealies. Obviously, he eats pretty well. :D

I guess I'll get used to them, but I'm still gonna whine until I get roaches!:bawling:

Thanks again! I was all ready to put the supers in their bowls last night, when I started having flashbacks to the occasional "the mealie ate thru my leos stomach" debates.

It seems like most of my leos learn to attack the head of the superworm for easier munching. So they stare in confusion when the super starts walking backwards, and then they end up attacking the butt end.

Anyway, I tried using supers as a staple, but that only lasted 4 or 5 months before all but one of my leos stopped eating them. I fed the younger leos small-medium supers, but they still didn't like them. I think it's in the taste, because even when I'd mix the small supers in with mealworms, they'd pick out all the mealworms and spit out any supers they grabbed by accident.

I am having the same sort of trouble Olivia. I noticed my one female was eating less so I got scared because I thought she had worms. Because of this I took her out of the display tank and put her in her own quarentine. Well I decided to be nice and get her some crickets the other day and she ate them like there was no tomorrow. I am glad that it does not appear she is sick but I am a tad annoyed at her pickiness :)

I guess superworm is like durian (not talking about taste here); some of my leos just never liked them. I had a juvi accidentally bit one, he just hold on to the worm in his mouth and took him a while to decide whether to spit it out or swallow it. He swallowed it in the end, but he wouldn't want to try a second one.

On the other hand, my females LOVE supers!! At first they're a bit reluctant to eat those, but after a few feedings with just supers, they became addicted and wouldn't eat anything else!!

I am so amazed at how they can visually distinguish full grown mealworms with small supers, they look the same to me! I tried it last night, I picked out the larger and more wiggly mealworms and throw it in Nana's tank, she ignored them, then I throw in a small super in the mix, she identified it right away and jumped on it like mad!! Strange...
