• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Mr. Douglass when you say " as long as they don't act like they deserve special treatment" your right but you are going to be very hard put to find a Marine that thinks they deserve special treatment, that said they damn well should be given it any chance you get to do it! I assure you that some may make money on snakes and some may not but there is no enlisted Marine that will ever get rich by defending your freedom and your Country. That Sir is my 2 cents!

First off, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for defending our country.

Now, I would like to say that this was a really crappy deal. Wether he put the snake up for $900 out of ignorance or inexperience is kind of irrelevant. I like to stand by the price I list my animals for, unless someone asks me to drive farther to meet them or drive too them, then I ask for gas compensation. But to say, "oh well if you want to pay $950 then she is yours" "Oh, nope, now I sold her because I want more money" is sad in my opinion.

Yes, there was no obligation to either party whatsoever, but it is still just the fact that the seller couldn't even stand by what he said and then attacked the buyer.

I am sorry to both of you for being put in this situation. However, I hope you get the clown you are looking for! Good luck to both of you!!

If you really want a snake, put a deposit down. This deposit should be accompanied by an email stating what the deposit is for, deposit amount, total price including shipping if neccessary, and outstanding debt, total price minus deposit. There is partial blame to go around. If a deposit was put down, the deal should not be changed by either party unless both agree to the change.

In most cases I agree with you. I think the op had a right to be angry and disappointed here.
