In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

hmmm

If I had to guess I would say male, although it is kind of hard to judge from that picture, it's kind of small. If you can, post a larger, clearer image of the "business" end. Otherwise I can't say 100% either way, although I would lean towards male, just because of the bulging. Tell me this, do you see a distinct V-shape above the vent?

sorry for the pic.....

I took many pic's and that was the clearest (of about 18) my digital camera is just no good close up!!!!
Anyway this gecko has definate bulges but very very faint "V"
It's just a mystery to me! He is very large thick neck, bulky much more than any of my females but he is so passive, he even let another male try to mate with him (after some biting and tail vibrating by the "normal" male) bizzare!!!

66 grams????

i do see little bulges but if he/she weighs 66 grams id imagine those bulges to be much bigger. im gonna go with female on this one ecspecially if males are reacting with vibrating tails rather than violence. the noses on these guys are pretty good at smelling sex pheromones.

hard to tell...

... but if, at 10 months and 66 grams the pre-anal "V" pores are faint, I'm leaning towards a she. I have few females that have kind of "puffy" lobes down there that could resemble an undeveloped male. Usually, at that age if it's a male, it is pretty obvious. I'd also like to see another photo, though.

He said this one had a very broad neck too....

A couple of my females are a little puffy in that area too.

This is a tricky one. LOL!! Maybe "it" should just be kept as a pet!

Hmm...I see what you mean about the broadness in features. I'll stick with my (slow developing) male guess. ;)

You will come back and tell us once you know for sure, right? ;)

good guess!

he/she was from Ric C. good guess....but im sure it was more than just a guess!!! unreal!!! LOL
and I will keep everyone posted when and if HE lays an egg!.....LOL

not really a guess

i have two females i purchased from him back in september. they have a certain look to them thats hard to mistake. i have already bred them both and have had my first hatchlings hatch this past month from a pairing of one of the females i bought from him and a hines/albey male i picked up from marcia at GGG. if you want to see some offspring you can goto this thread:

http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=34176&perpage=5&pagenumber=1

I'm sure whatever Ric sold it as, is exactly what it is. Shes just a big girl (im assuming he sold it as a female...).

if you breed her soon i have my other female from Rics line (looks alot more like the one you have than Lillie) that just started laying eggs, maybe we can swap a hatchling or something. either way i wish you best of luck with her (him?) and by the looks of her you wont need too much luck.

hmmm...

i checked out his phototime account and seen the gecko that was sold to you being advertised as a male. based on that i say its pretty safe to say thats what it is. Strange that other males arent trying to attack him rather than mate with him. Try putting him with a (mature) female and see if his tail vibrates, if it does than its pretty safe to say hes a male. Have you spoken to Ric about this?

No...I haven't......

But it's not really a problem to me! I would just like to know?
As for mature females he has been with at least six some proven breeders. And never not once did he even remotely act like a male. So I decided to put him with one of my males and that male was trying to bite him and had the vibrating tail thing going on, then he actually was trying to mate with him (winston). So!!!! Im clue-less ! He (winston) is now and has been for three days in a group of four females and one other male with no other problems between (winston) and the male.
So Im thinking maybe he IS a she. time will tell.
