Purchased a small group ofHomopholis fasciata or Tanzanian Velvet Geckos from Switzer Reptiles July 23rd and they arrived July 26th all in great condition - even one extra! Spoke with Linda over the phone and through email; very helpful and when temperatures were too hot the week before, she had brought up on her own that she will not ship until conditions improved - which is a big plus in my eyes as I've dealt with a few distributors that could have cared less unless I brought up the issue/thought beforehand.
If I had anything negative, it would be that communication was lost after the 24th - I had been after a 2.2, but Linda was not sure if there was another male.

Great, I really appreciate it, but if it doesn't work out just don't sweat it. Just let me know what ends up being shipped I suppose. Is the one male a pretty good size? Can I get a picture?

I've been through one cage... there are a few younger that might be male. Tomorrow morning before they heat up again, I will have my husband help me (to keep those fast little geckos from jumping past me and out of the enclosure) look for another male. So far, one for sure male.
Temps look good for shipping tomorrow.

Anyway, yes, I will physically be here to sign for the Geckos when they arrive - off of work Friday.
If you can't find another male I'll take the 1.3 instead - for sure want that positive male. I appreciate the notice! Let me know if you come across another male as I would prefer the 2.2, otherwise the 1.3 will do fine.

Also wanted to mention that today I checked to see what sexes we have. I could only find one obvious male (could be more just didn't see them). If I cannot find a second male, would you want to have 1.3 or 1.2.1 ( 1 male, 2 female, & 1 unsexed juvenile). I will take a better look tomorrow afternoon, but just in case, let me know what you would like to do.

July 24th at 10:32pm was the last email I had received from Linda - I was a little disappointed that I hadn't heard anything back about what had been shipped. Granted either way a 1.3 or 2.2 would have been fine, but a notice would have been nice too. Still pretty darn good though seems how she still went out of her way to get that one positive male. After looking on arrival, I believe to have a 2.2.1 so it was still a win win.
Other than the lost communication towards the end, everything is doing very well - I would purchase again from Switzer Reptiles as the animals were packaged well, sent on the correct date, and arrived in good condition. Drinking and eating right out of the box!

I didn't want to spoil the surprise. We communicated that I was shipping on the 23rd, which was the day before you received them. I sent FedEx tracking and you said you would be home to receive them. So all was good to go. Glad you like them... Enjoy!
