• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I agree with most of what your saying...

You should always be careful with who your trading with. Eithere its a person you know, know of, or that you've done your research on. Back in the mid eighties and early ninetys the best way to get anything was to trade someone what you had for something you didnt. there was a lot more trading back then because everyone knew each other and there were a lot less predators, and overseas predators were barely even heard of. today there is a perponderance of them which is why you must be careful. Anytime i have hatchlings i am always more then willing to trade with someone that has something i want which was the case this weekend at the white plains show where i traded some baby boas for cresteds and two weeks ago i traded some baby boas for a black tree monitor that was advertised here on fauna. each of those trades came out great and i wouldnt have been able to get what they had if i didnt want to trade for them and everyone walked away happy with thier end of the deal.

well Nicholas, I am very happy, that everything

worked out well for you, but I think we both know that their are grave yards filled with bad barters. "not exactly what I was looking for, wrong color, wrong sex, turned out to be a male, etc" consider yourself the exception to the rule.

If you can see what you are trading for, then thats a different story altogether. Personally, i would prefer to buy then trade. Iam willing to accept a bought uncertainty than a traded one. I not only have more legal clout if necessary, but I can effect the monetary outcome in most instances. With bartering, I have no leverage. Its simply a business decision.

So I guess it depends on your comfort level. Nice speaking to you. JERRY
