    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Absolute nightmare with this guy.
My tegu's poo was 50% parasites and he ended up passing away due to the severe ammount of parasites in his system. He was skinny but did eat, the parasites took every morsel of food he ate and he basically starved to death.
Tried to order from this guy again, he told me he had females available, showed me one specific female, I agreed to take her and no response. Send him a text and he's sold it off to someone else. Called him out in it and he became very hostile towards me.
But your tegus from a reputable breeder, this man has a short fuse and so many others who have dealt with him know he is very unprofessional and becomes very hostile when anything against his business is brought to his attention.
He doesn't treat these animals properly, they're crawling all over each other in over crowded enclosures.
He shot at a tegu in a trap in a video to prove a point. Apparently this guy thinks stressing animals out is okay to prove his point?
Please please please, support breeders putting passion and all they have into producing top quality animals, friendly, healthy and not to mention more attractive animals. Don't support someone taking advantage of an issue to make a quick buck. $200 or more for a wild caught tegu when you don't know anything about it or what it could produce in the near future.

After this, I had texted him and asked if he had available females. He said no. I asked is there any reason why he sold the female I had agreed to take. Email back in response:

If I am wrong here, I will man up and make it right. You need to understand that this time of year,
I get many calls from people wanting to buy adult females during the mating season and want to start breeding themselves.
I am reviewing our calls and emails and I need a little help understanding.

Keep in mind, many people call interested in a tegu. If they are serious, I ask for an email describing the tegu and send a
paypal request. Many times, I never hear from them again, they change their minds, do not have the money
to buy it, etc. I simply cant hold every one that someone is just interested in. I wish I could.

I see on april 6th : Okay, I am definitely interested in her.
Am I missing something or is that to mean : " I am going to buy that one . hold it and send paypal request"
If that is the case, I am wrong. Please show me where we both agreed on the sale and when.

My response:
Yes that email was me saying I was going to take her. And I sent you an email a day after that asking if I could still take her and heard nothing back from you after that. I figured in the second email when I said "take" that would mean, yes I am actually taking her.
But like I said I didn't get a response from you. I wasn't aware there were specific words I had to say to hold her and ensure I will be guaranteed the tegu. And from my understanding, you won't hold tegus.

I don't want to be a hard ass here but I just went over the emails and I still don't see where you said you were going
to " take her" I agreed to hold her for you. When I know the tegu is going to a buyer I pull that tegu and
ship the next day or as soon as possible. I am a one man operation. this time of year I get hundreds of calls,text and emails.
I have seventeen different enclousres and about 150 tegus. It is bad for the tegu to be removed from its comfort area,
take pictures, then put somewhere while the customer make up their mind. Some people want to window shop
like at a pet store. Because of the scale of my operation, I just cant do it. In the future, I would suggest that
when you see something online, tell the seller: I want to buy that one right now, how do I pay and when can you ship.

Having said all this, I will search and try to find one just like the one you wanted or one of my females that
has laid. If this works for you let me know and we can do business no hard feelings.

If you'll be doing that route, then show me the email where you specifically said she will be held for me. Never once was that mentioned since you quit responding after I said I was interested. You didn't even bother to send me an email to say:
"Hey just checking to see if you want the female still as I have others interested."
It's just a bad way to do business honestly.

Why try to order again after the parasite experience you typed of? You described his behavior towards the animals as bad. Why order in that case?

Expression of interest is not commitment to purchase and it is also not an agreement between parties. You said you were interested, asked if you can still get her, and asked if she is still available. I did not see a bit in there saying you want to or will buy her and asking where to send the money. Asking if you can get something and saying you will get something are not the same things. You may have fully intended to, but vendors deal with people all day long who use non-committal language and never buy, so statements should usually be more clear about what is meant instead of meaning one thing strongly and saying something else less strongly.

Did you leave out the hostile emails/messages? They are not showing up in your post.

Also, who is Bobby?
 
I figured I'd give the business a mother shot as I have talked to others who have healthy tegu's. Perhaps mine was just overlooked or something of the sort.
I am not a business owner, so sorry for not knowing I had to say specific words to express that I'm 100% committed, but seeing how I got my last tegu in the same way I don't see the issue.

Considering I already knew the price of shipping from the last transaction I did not ask. He even mentioned the tegu was $250 plus $50 shipping so no need to ask. In the first transaction I said the same thing "I'm very interested" and that got me a tegu. Second time I said the same thing. I don't see the issue here. He didn't even email to check in if I wanted her still even though I've sent 3 emails before asking when I can "get" her.
As for my parasite infested tegu, here's the paperwork. (He turned out to be female by the way after I asked for a male)

I understand that part, but the words in the one set of emails are his, so that is why it is expected since they have been posted (even though you posted them). By not providing the full name when it is within capability, it then becomes anonymous third-party quotation. It would not affect him, but it can earn an infraction for your account and I am taking the time to walk you through this to avoid that since I realize you did not realize that. All the same, all members are responsible for this (I hold myself to the same standard), so I am providing the opportunity for the painless fix.
 
I'd like to see the timeline of the first transaction: When did you get it, when did you go to the vet, when did it die, when did you notify the seller. I too wonder why you would do business with this seller if you think he is at fault, but so far without proof or a timeline, there are not enough facts here to go on.
As far as your prospective purchase of the female, you did not send money and there is no promise to hold. Sellers get told all the time that buyers are interested, and then they never hear anything again. If you are interested in a particular critter, send money.
That said, it sounds like this seller will have plenty of females after they lay, why not put a deposit on one?
So far, this seller does not seem like a bad guy for wanting a deposit or something more definite, but I am awaiting your facts.

That has absolutely not been said or implied at all. The questions are both for proof/evidence and for understanding. An animal that got sick and died within a week is a very different thing than an animal that got sick and died six months down the road. People are willing to help and support you if you post your information and be as transparent as possible.

Otherwise, it's simply an accusation with no support, and people are not going to want to support you when there is no information for them to form and informed opinion.

You are not being attacked. Look at any thread, pick one at random, and you will see the exact same questions being asked. No one is claiming you are at fault, they just want to be able to better understand what happened, how it happened, and when it happened.

That said, if you are unwilling to even attempt to answer these questions, why post to begin with? It's not a requirement to post any evidence, but it is absolutely mindboggling why anyone would make an accusation- true or not- and then utterly refuse to give any details or post any photos or copy any emails/texts to support themselves.

You are not "at fault", and running away instead of answering these questions will do more harm to your reputation than to the seller.
