    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Alright I have a red tail that I bought when it was a baby. Just have a few questions on temperment when they are young to when they mature. This snake has never bit me or even remotely looked like it wanted to. Never has hissed at me and I have had multiple people handle it and pass it to each other with no problem. Is this just becuase he is young? Will it get somewhat more aggressive when he or she matures? Not complaining at all lol just want to get a little information. :D

Anthony,
You didn't mention what type of boa that you have. The term Red Tail is a pet store designation and doesn't really refer to a particular ssp. I'll make the assumption that you have purchased a common boa (Boa constrictor imperator). Correct me if I am wrong about this assumption.

Common boas are typically very docile - they are the Golden Retrievers of the Boid world. Barring any extreme changes in his environment, and assuming that he will be properly maintained, I think that you can expect to raise a content and well-behaved animal.

There is no reason to expect that your docile baby will develop an attitude as he matures.

I agree with Mike if he was going to be a biter it would be now while he's young. This doesnt mean he will never bite. I would say 7 out of 10 times a normally docile boa bites its because of a human mistake. For one you should always give him/her alittle warning that your about to grab him/her rather than grab him suddenly and catch him by suprise, also make sure your hands are completely clean after haveing a rodent smell on them. These are pretty obvious Im just letting you know in case you dont. I wish someone would have told me with my first snake he got me good, not only did I grab him without warning but I smelled like a rat too.

I agree with everything above but would have to make that 7 out of 10 times a 9.5 out of 10 times being the owners mistake and that 1/2 point for the rare freak attacks. Just my opinion..
