In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello all,

I am looking for Texas alligator lizards with locality data, I know most folks don't care about that stuff but I was brought up as an alterna guy growing up so I pretty much try to keep locality data on everything I keep here. I have kept gherronotus in the past but it has been a few years since I've had them here. CB is preferred but I know there isn't a huge group of folks working with them on the captive side these days. I will be doing some fall cruising hoping to come across these guys as their breeding season kicks into gear, but if this ad is still up I am still looking for more.

Thanks in advance,
-Connor Wardle

I am keeping them also. They are one of the most amazing species of lizard imo. I can just reach in and pick them up even though I've done zero to try to tame them (honestly I only handle herps infrequently). It would be great to see more people working with them. They remind me of Abronia but without the special requirements and sensitivity. Good luck with your search and your field herping.

From what I've seen no one really has locality data on what they are producing which is why I'll likely end up just collecting a group. Not sure if you are on FB or not but Blackstone Exotics (Ryu Lugosi) does great work with these as well as western coachwhips which are another favorite of mine. Building out an outdoor screened enclosure for when I eventually keep these guys again which will also house rough green snakes (Opheodrys aestivus, 1.2 group here) and possibly some little brown skinks (Scincella lateralis) but the gators may try to eat them so that will be a game time decision. I am repurposing an elevated planter and building out a screened framing over the top, total dimensions will be 30"X24"X60".
