    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Trying to expand my native Texas collection! Looking for any of the ten rattlesnake species that call Texas home (minus the timber because I haven’t nailed down legality on owning those in Texas yet). I prefer younger specimens than adults. Bonus points for locality animals.

C. Atrox
C. Viridis
C. Scutulus
C. Ornatus (REALLY need a Davis Mtn female for my male)
C. Lepidus / Klauberi (open to any Klaub, but would prefer Leps to be Franklin Mtn locality)
S. Miliarus (Streckeri only)
S. Tergeminus (Both Western and Desert Mass)


The only exception to the above statement being that any Atrox be locality bred OR a visual T- albino / bubblegum male. Pretty heavy on firecracker het females already.

I can show my venomous permit and proof of experience if requested, though no permit is needed in Texas to keep native hots. Thanks in advance!

I had heard that you could keep them legally now if they were gifted or you collected them but couldn’t breed them or sell them but I wasn’t for sure on that. Someone had also told me that you could breed them if you could prove parent stock did not originate in Texas but I felt like that might be pushing it with as recent as they came off the black list.

I have 1.1 RTB adult C. ornatus posted here on fauna. They are locality collected “Brewster County Texas”. Please text me at 573-513-2369 to discuss.
 
If you don't have a dealer's permit. You can legally own up to 6 timber Rattlesnakes. They can be wild caught, imported or purchased from a non game dealer in texas.

If you have a non game dealer's permit you can own unlimited number of timber Rattlesnakes under the condition that they are not collected from the wild. They have to either be imported (the dealer reports the transaction and import to texas parks and wildlife through the online log system) or purchase from another non game dealer (that dealer will have reported the import). A non game dealer can sell timbers to anyone who can legally own them and should provide a receipt of the transaction. If needed I can dm emails providing proof of everything stated. These rules apply to all blacklisted species. (Blacklisted species are not threatened or endangered)
 
I forgot to mention that those that have legally imported timber rattlesnakes under a ngd permit are allowed to breed them. All babies produced are also reported under the ngd permit.
