Jim,

Herein lies the problem. You done a good deed here and made Maggie very happy and even impressed Wes (a slight bit). You don't need to be "rude, obnoxious and a jerk" if things don't go as you perceive they should. Remember that everyone remembers events differently, most often to their own advantage. That's human nature. The old adage of "in any dispute between two people there are three sides: his, hers, and the truth" is something to consider. Sometimes someone speaks what they believe to be truth and their recollection is different than yours. That doesn't make either party a liar and does not entitle you to be "rude, obnoxious and a jerk".

You started a thread in Hell regarding Matt recently. You were upset at his comment about you in another Interent area. How about the comments that you made about Casey's work? They were at least equally uncalled for given that you were already in competition with him. Have you publicly apologized for that? If not, you should.

Kudos Jim for a act of kindness.

I honestly beleive your recent trouble here definately motivated such actions, as you know it would be mentioned here. But still.... A very nice thing to do.

Now just work on that attitude of yours........ Please remember one good act does not erase countless outbursts. But its a start.

I am glad that maggie can put the rack to good use, It never dawned on me the impact it would have and the thumbs up that I would get here. I Thought she would have been hush hush about it because she would be slammed for it, like she was by at least one person by PM.

That is true Bruce, and as someone that has admitted to liking him in the past, I will say that I sometimes grow tired of his occasional rude attitude. I should also mention that I am a big John Stewart fan as well...

Anyway, I agree with many here that it would not hurt Jim to bite his tongue every now and then. I think he has the potential to be a very good guy in the reptile business. His product seems to be of good quality, and he seems to provide good customer service. Just take a look at his trader rating. It is pretty darn high considering. All of his customers have good things to say about him except for the two complaints from Mr. Scammer (Tim Bowls), and who believes anything Tim says anyway. So he has a good trader rating, which reflects on his product and service. But he also warning points up the kazoo, and negative rep off the scale, which is reflects on his impulse control issue.

Jim, If you can get a little better control of your temper, not only will you be a better all around business man, but people will like you a little more too, and that will in turn help your business. Basically, its a win/win situation.

I wouldnt call you a liar Jim. I would call you a sucker for going back to the same seller 3-4 times, and a dumb dumb for thinking you'd receive any sympathy while whining about it here where the seller is well respected for his absolute great customer service.

I am trying to understand why everyone needs to bash Jim on his temper. I enjoy the BOI to learn of customer service, product quality, and animals quality of future buys I may make. Take a look at lot wealthy people, Donald Trump, Boyd Coddington whom I have met at his car shows and he has a temper, how about our lovely politicians, my father everyone loves except those who truly know him. These people rant and rave cursing anyone that does not jump and say how high while they are in the air. We cannot be wasting our time on the BOI worrying if Jim has a bad temper. Hell is used for those ill feelings we have of others, so keep it all there.

Jim's products look to be of quality and some have posted they are. I have not done business with him, but it seems he wants his customers to be happy. I have bought cages from others and he was on my list of potential builders, I did not do so as I found something different in another's cage and I then ended up building my own. After reading the satisfaction of others I would be willing to buy from Jim and could care less if he has a short fuse, it has nothing to do with his craftsmanship.

Does his craftsmanship matter if the deal does not go as it should and you are left without a resolution?
Hypothetically if your cage arrives damaged or is the wrong order, would you like to know how the seller might resolve the issue, regardless of his craftsmanship?

Again, if he provides me a product with good quality and service I am not going to harp on his temper. If I do not like him then so be it, but I do not have any personal dealings with him so I see not need to worry. I have bought from people I do not know personally, I do not know if they have a short fuse or not, but unless it is aimed at me I do not care. I work with people that hate the world and everyone in it, but that does not mean I cannot say hello and good morning.

I did read the link provided in the this thread, what I read was Jim did not like the product he received, yes he was harsh but he did apologise for what he wrote, but let the man have his own personal feelings. This goes for anyone not just Jim, if you do not like what I provide than fine say what you will. Though if you have ill feelings because he said he thought bad of the product you did not build yourself, then grow up.

I have had deals go wrong, the service provided by one man has always been different than someone else. Some offer exchanges, some offer refunds, I do not get pissed immediately without first trying to resolve the issue because the carrier screwed up. As we have read some do. I have tried to be very reasonable on both sides, I have yet haave someone get upset with me because I was not able to be calm.

Jim has provided good service as was described in the beginning of this thread by some of the people who posted here. If he is trying to settle down his anger issues and just run a good business and change for the better from past problems, you guys are the ones being rude to him.

I have seen on several occasions how some band together and gang up on someone. There has been times when this has been good and proved out a scammer. This thread was about Maggie's good dealing with Jim and Jim got ripped on for his temper in the Hell thread.

I know I'm gonna get flamed for this, so I have my extinguisher ready.....Unfortunately, it seems that Jim will have a negative following no matter what he does. IMHO.
Kind of like the kid who cracks out a really good one in church. He's been scolded for his action, but everytime you hear his name, or see him, you think about the fart. Doesn't matter that he's moved on...done other things with his life...been truly remorseful and apologized. You'll still linger on that fart....(pun intended).
Jim has a righ to defend himself, and offer his opinion. If he comes across as a 'rude, obnoxious jerk' so be it. Geez, sometimes when I read these posts, all I want to say is 'Back off, and give this guy a break'. :>poke2<:

What he may lack in personality (according to others, I've never seen that side of him personally), he most certianly makes up for in craftsmanship.
Question to all the 'anti-Jimmers'--Have you had negative business dealings with him? Do you have his merchandise? Or are these opinions based solely on the interactions here?? I have searched the name, but couldn't find anything too specific??

jim has cut more than just one. Had this been an isolated incident I could see the coming to jim's aid but when there have been multiple occurrences, one act of kindness (ANYONE WITH THE IQ OVER 15 KNOWS IT WAS DONE WITH THE INTENT OF IT GETTING POSTED) does NOT mean the leopard has changed his spots.
