The American Lung Association is scarier than I thought. Ten minutes of google searches on their board of directors showed me almost every one of them has either a direct link, or has received money in some form from Pfizer or Glaxo. A quick look at their financial statements show they pay out almost 4 times more money in salaries and consulting fees than they receive in donations.
If you believe this organization is anything more than a profit motivated mouthpiece for big Pharma you are either blind, deaf, or being paid by big pharma. Pfizer and Glaxo are terrified of e-cigarettes. Why? Because they are a proven safer and more effective tool for smokers. They realize that they will lose billions of dollars from widespread acceptance of e-cigarettes. E-cigarettes have been proven in multiple studies to be far more effective in keeping people from smoking cigarettes than their suicide drugs are.
Any group that claims to have the public's health in their best interest, yet tries to prevent people from switching to this safer alternative is a sham. Furthermore they should be investigated and prosecuted for this dangerous practice of misinformation and fear mongering. The American Lung Association is part of a campaign that is as bad or worse than the campaign big tobacco used in the last century to try and mislead people into thinking cigarettes were safe.
