In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

The Cinn or the Black?

Cinnies all the way- BUT oinly the really nice cinnies. I have seen black pastels that are very nice too.... but I just like th ecinnies better- yeah, as others said b4, preference.

The cinny and black pastel has the potential to look too normal, but when you see spectacular versions of either, that look great!

When you find one, you can't beat that floating connected side pattern in cinny's.

I personally like both, but here's a super nice cinny. Came from a dark BHB line cinny.

I guess yours is an example of a cinni that looks like a black pastel Paul. He is nice but I had to reread your post cuz I would a swore that's a pic of a BP.

I have both, would lean towards Black Pastels a little more just because I think their patterns get a little more funky and like the super form a little more. On duck billing, I think you have to be really careful to have a diverse gene pool, i.e. no line breeding. I had a hard time really getting a feel for either gene only seeing pictures, much better in real life!

Pictured below, Black Pastel 100% het Pied on left next to a Cinny 100% het Pied on the right (slightly larger). The Cinny has an awesome full dorsal stripe, and the Black Pastel has a nice ringer and lots of funky little pattern nuances.

Two quick videos of them too, sorry for the not so great quality.

super black pastel pinstripe would prob just be a all black snake, the super form of either the black pastel or cinny just takes over and visually dominates the other gene. I have super cinny genetic stripes and you can only see the striping when they are hatchlings, as they grow and get darker the stripe fades out.

You can see the pattern just fine on a super cinny pin. A super chocolate pin is a 'camo' and you can see the pattern on that just fine too. I've heard a description of a super black pin. Sort of like a gold dust with reverse pin pattern. Can't wait to see it!

.

just look at the combos that you want to make and see which gives the desired color you are looking for. Or buy one of each!

Probably the best advice in this thread...I personally like cinnies better on their own, and in quite a few combos, but there are combos where I prefer black pastel in the mix. I currently have cinnies, but my solution will be just to add black pastel to my collection.

I think it all depends on the combos your looking for also. First pic is my black pewter male from Outback, I like the look over cinny pewters.

Second pic is a cinny pewter I produced in 2010.

And last is a paradox lesser cinny I produced last year. Like Brian said earlier I really like the lesser cinny combo over the black lesser.

I am 100% no question about black pastels! they make more crisp colors and are just amazing :) to me cinnys look like a low quality black pastel but some cinnys are very nice however I honestly do not like any combo including the cinny gene they look nice on there own.......but it all depends on what you like :)
