Recently I was appreciated for sharing parental information on snakes that were purchased from me . . . I've decided to expound on that subject.
I believe everyone should provide the buyer(s) with their parental information and background of animals purchased. I mean, wouldn't YOU like to know where your animal(s) came from? We set the bar . . . Now we need to raise it and make this standard practice!
We (as herpers) share the responcibility of many things. Keeping fellow herpers informed of: past genetic information so new morphs may be created and tracked, passing on information and results of varieties within new morphs (IE. Snows: Bubblegum Snows, Pink and Green Snows, Pink Champagne Snows, etc.), and educating those who wish to learn, are just a few. Didn't that help you learn when you first became interested and aren't you still using that information now?
Not to lecture . . . but it's all about moving forward. How will we know where to go if we don't have a map, or ask directions? If you end up someplace fantastic accidently, could you retrace your exact route? Genetics are complex enough, please help others find their way.
It is never too late to be what you might have been.
