A_Kendergirl
AKA Grinning Geckos
Well, here it is! I've been talking about this for months now. I started it before I got pregnant, and haven't touched it since I became so....just too tired, sick, and lazy!
The specs..
20gal long
2 food dishes
2 humid hides
1 LARGE water bowl
2 hot caves
1 large cool cave
and more nooks, crannies, and hidey-holes than you can shake a stick at!
The view from the front...I still need to hide the box below the 4th level, otherwise it's done (beyond adding another small plant or two). Ummm...that is this STAGE is almost done!
The right side has a large cool cave with a viewing window on the side...the waterbowl sits on top.
The left side has all the levels, heating, humid hides, and more!
Looking down on the left side, you can see the geckos can get down using tunnels in the back, or take the "stairs" in the front....whatever floats there boat.
This is the 4th level...a nice place to hang out, and the entrance to the small humid hide (room for 1...maybe 2 if they like each other).
Not seen on the third level is the small humid hide, there's enough room there to walk all the way around. The build-up around the hide is the only part not complete.
On the second level, there's plenty of places to chill out, crawl in and out of holes (not visible), enter the large humid hide (room enough for 3, easily), sip on a margarita, and just enjoy being a gecko.
The first floor, women's clothing, cook ware, linens, and UTHs. You can easily see the 2 food bowls...eat alone or dine with a friend!
Yes....I am crazy, and I have spent a lot of time thinking this over!! It's taken a lot of time, and still needs work. All I know is, it will look AWESOME when done, and the geckos that move in will be very lucky indeed. I wish I could do it for all my geckos.
All of this stemmed from a desire to have a "show piece", yet have it more functional than Gileans tank (which I didn't fully think out all of the problems). I can take out the humid hides without tearing apart the whole tank (unlike Gilean's), and EVERYTHING can come out in under 3 minutes....less 1 1/2 if you don't care where you're throwing things! LOL

Not accepting your apologies -- I agree with you!
