In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have 2 Bufo Gutatta (Smooth Sided or Spotted Toads) from South America. They are males and they are super intelligent and trainable. I raised and trained horses for over 30 yrs and dogs for 20 yrs. I also taught horseback riding as well as teaching Art at the University of MS. I feel that I have had the experience and gained the knowledge to break rules that will present each creature to find it's own ways and adapdt their own abilities in learning.
I had another pair for approx 8 years, they were Jake and Elwood (also males), and this pair is Wally and the Beaver. With these I have had 13 to 15 individuals among other varities of frogs, tree frogs, and toads.
I would like to hear opinions or experiences from others who may be interested in this topic. Thanks, AEJ

I didn't realize there were toad training rules. :D
Welcome :)

Welcome to the site!

Your work sounds very interesting, I'd love to hear more about what you were able to train them to do and the meathods used (rewards/food I assume)?

I want to hear about the toads! I love frogs-n-toads. Some day when I can scan it, I'm going to post a picture of me at about 6 years old, holding an enormous frog I caught at the edge of the brook at my Grandpa's house.....
