Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

The new Atlanta show schedule

Great for you eric. Tony, he is a friend of yours. it takes a friend to put money aside and tell you to go get help. You will never get that from jeff, because in your present state you are unable to realize Jeff is hurting your shows.

I've never been good at guessing the numbers of crowds but it looked like a lot more than any 1200. I didn't realize you were standing at the door counting heads all day both days. Glad I'm not that bored lol.

Cathy...you are right to defend the smack talk against you...and you just brought up a really good point about how eric's crack wasn't funny because it came from an employee of Tony...The same goes for you calling his venues before his shows to see if he's paid up yet and announcing his cancelations/postponements/problems before he does. If you all of a sudden found one of your upcoming shows to be having scheduling problems or for some reason something came up that put the show in jeapordy...would you want Tony running around announcing your show is not going to happen while you were frantically trying to work out the details? I think his email to you was childish, petty and a horrible move on his part. I don't think it needed to be shared with the public though. I also don't believe he should be fighting his battle with you in his newsletter...and 10 vendors at the spartanburg show? lol...There was 2 big buildings packed full of vendors. Where did he get his head count from? Where was I when that other stuff was going on you ask? Avoiding this crap for one. I don't know how to make you understand that I'm not downing your position or saying you are wrong ...I just think it could be handled differently. I'm also not saying that you need to be the one to straighten up...I don't have the answers for that...just the questions and the beef about it. It's all unfortunate and it's hurting the show market for everyone. Who's to blame? Who cares? It just needs to go away. I'm about || close to clearing my calander and just not doing any more shows till all this stops and shows get back to what they once were before the heads started butting.

Brett how can you not tell between 1200 and 5000. And this would stop if people like you stop telling Cathy to behave and not just Call Tony and tell him to appolgize to everyone and get help. You keep on saying you are neutral and then sound like one of Tony's boys. This tread is needed to stop Tony from hurting this business. No one else is fighting except Tony. We are just finally standing up to him. And the reptile world needs to have a debate on venomoids.

I left at 1:00 on Sunday - it was useless for me to stay longer, things
were too slow. Besides, I had a 7 hour drive back to Raleigh(told you, I
do this for fun, not the money).

Saturday, there were ~712 people in the door. Sunday had far fewer
when I left at 1:00. I was selling tickets. Tony's other shows, even the
ones where he did relatively poorly, always had lines at the beginning.
He's a great promoter, he's just not able to be one right now until he fixes
his big problem first. tony's got two choices. One, he can continue the
way he is. If he does, he's finished as a show promoter. That's the least
of his problems. Second, he can get help. If he does this, he's got the
ability to fix all his other problems and resolve all the other rissues. With
that done, he's got a chance at a comeback, and he wont' be hurting the
hobby.

Going down the track he is now does nothing but damage the reptile and
amphibian industry, and himself.

I really hope that in the near future, we'll see numerous shows i the
region, his included. Everyone else wants smaller, hard core reptile
shows. Let Tony be the one with the big, circus like shows, petting zoos
and such - there's a place for both. I think that would be awesome. I
pray he can fix things up. The industry will be fine regardless, tony does
not own the monopoly on shows. The thing that worries me is Tony,
himself. I dot' want to see him fall, I want him to recover, and straighten
out.

Brett, Cathy wasn't the only one to call the Gwinnett Center. I also called & they confirmed that there would not be a reptile show. I feel that it is okay to make sure the event will take place before reserving a hotel room, sending in payment for the show & everything else included. As for the date change, I'm glad I didn't prepay & sign-up for Atlanta. On the postponed show date, my husband had already made plans to take that weekend off for a trip to Pa. with me. He'd never been up north & we planned a weekend get-away at the Hamburg show. It would have put non-refundable money in someone's pocket that I can't afford to lose. I had the Hamburg show on my schedule calendar for two months already. NO WAY that I was going to cancel that!
If I've got the animals, I'll still vend the shows. No matter who's promoting it.

Oh, and one more thing. Cathy never used a name similar to Tony's SC show. That was Lisa & Jason Campbell. She was simply trying to help them out & had nothing to do with the name. As a matter of fact, when she did do a show of her own, she gave it a name of her own choosing that is a lot different than Tony's show name to avoid any confusion.

I think the reptile world has been debating venomoids ever since there have been venomoids. This is how strict my policy is against voids. Before the Atlanta show, Tony asked me to put a banner on my site. I couldn't reach my webmaster and I don't know the password to my own site lol...he offered to put me in touch with his webmaster who happens to be Jeff Mohr. I told him no thanks. jeff uses voids in his shows and I don't associate in any way with anyone that deals in voids. I have never seen Jeff's shows. I'm fairly certain I wouldn't be able to keep my mouth shut...so I avoid walking over there.

I don't think the word "neutral" is exactly appropriate and at least on the anti-promoters fighting under the public eye, I am certainly not neutral as I think it's what's killing the shows for everyone. I never said I was neutral. It's more complicated to me than who's right and who's wrong. I'm anti-promoters bickering in public. I'm way more on Cathy's side on what's been slung here than I am Tony's. In fact, I think Tony has stepped way out of bounds on several issues...The only thing I can semi-understand is him being upset about is that Cathy and/or Cathy's friends and family are announcing his shows cancled while he's still trying to iron out the details...and at least one of his "cancelations" announced by them took place as scheduled. One can only guess at the amount of dammage that was done to that show from the bad press. I feel like they should both either stop fighting all together or at least keep it to themselves. BOTH of them should just stay out of the other's business completely. How can this happen when it's not likely both will cease fire at the same time? *shrug* It probably won't and that's sad. It's probably also impossible to keep things under the rug when there are people close to both promoters who are trigger happy with the keyboard. And once again...Tony's shows need to do well if Cathy wants her shows to do well in the same area. Cathy's shows also need to do well if Tony's shows are going to do well...There is only so many people in any given area that are into reptiles and attend these shows. When too many shows in a row suck, it doesn't matter who promoted it, people stop bothering with it. All this bickering in public is forming allegiences whether you intend for it to or not. It's causing a split in who will do what shows. I don't personally feel a need to like or even respect someone just to rent a table and go sell snakehooks off of it. Cathy, you have given me many reasons now not to like Tony Cueto...But again...If I want to do a Tony show, I'm there for the date and the place, not the promoter. I sell my hooks and go home. That's the extent of my relationship with Tony. At the same time, I will go do a Cathy show even if the time isn't so convenient for me and even if I don't think I'll make any money. So far I've done ok with sales but I know Cathy's heart is in this and she's trying her best to have the best shows she can put together and that's why I want to be there. So no...I don't consider myself exactly neutral on any of this.

Hey cricket, If you pay by paypal and the show date changes, you can file a claim with paypal and they will rule in your favor and force a refund. the decision won't be Tony's to make....just an FYI. If you pay by Credit card, you could do the same thing with your credit card company.

Eric, I hope you don't lose your job after that last post. But your honesty is much appreciated. People have a right to know things, good or bad, so they can reach their own conclusions based on fact.
So, who all is going to Columbia SC next month? Personally, I'll have to do a head count on my animals as the time grows nearer. I'll be a last minute sign-up if I go. I've been doing a lot of shipping for the holidays. I don't want to pay for a table & have no animals to sell. You other breeders know what I mean.

Oh, I understand that now. That's what I was explaining. Knowing
what I knew at the time, it sure seemed like Tony had a right to be
pissed. What I *knew* to be true was only partially true. Someone did
throw a show at "Tony's" location, WITH an almost identical name (very
VERY unprofessional, and rightly off-pissing). What I *knew" at the
time is that Cathy and these other people did it. I did not realize that
Cathy was, literally, an innocent party in the dealings, and had nothing to
do with the "bad" side of it all.

Furthermore, I had not remembered that Tony DID say he was not just
doing a Greenville show, but was moving the SC location TO Greenvile
in effect, freeing up Columbia.

I thought Cathy was the one who acted wrong first, but that was not
true. Especially considering that Cathy, when she worked for Tony, did
not get paid for her weeks of work. I do believe that if that is true, if
Tony did not pay her for work she did, then Tony has no reason to be
upset at her. Someone doesn't pay me for something I did, I 'm through
with them.

I amnot worried about me - I work at the shows for fun and for
hobby-money. I am worrided that this feuddamages the industry, and
Tony's reputation as a show promoter, and causes all sorts of
problems.

tony's had more problems recently than I can imagine. I hope he gets
things straightened out, and resolves the issues he's got with everyone.
That might be very difficult for him to do - he's very set in his ways.
considering how well they worked in th epast,it's understandable. I
really hope that things will "work out" for everyone, and nobody will feel
like they can't go to any reptile event because of any divisions or
whatsoever.

for all I know, many of the things Tony has said to cathy MAY have a
basis in truth(I do not know, I'm just saying this to make a point) -
regardless of that, the way he said it was simply hurtful and wrong and
counterproductive.

In hte end, I am Tony's friend, and I want to see him and his shows do
well. If he doesn't fix his problems, and continues with self destructive
behaviors, his shows will not do well. For HIS sake alone, I want him to
do well, he's my friend for god's sake! He's given me great oppurtnities.
As a neutral party - a vendor/hobbyisit, I wan to see his shows do well,
as it's better for the hobby. As a neutral party/vendor/hobbyist, I want
to hear none of the attacks, personal digs, public deriding of others,
nothing of the sort. It turns me off of the shows, and sets up an
uncomfortable atmosphere.

In the end, what I want is everyone to get alone and not fight an d
bicker. I know, it sounds like some impossible socialist-BS-utopia - but
I think if everyone was comfortable to work for and go to any show they
wanted, and promoters had nothing against promoting any other shows
- that'll be good enough for me.

Eric I do appreciate your post. I would like to state that we (myself, Danny, Monica and Jason) were paid for working for Tony last year! Just thought I would clear that up.

There are a lot of people that have no idea what the whole “true” story is. So don’t feel bad!

Brett I understand everything you are saying and I have agreed many times. Your friendship and support mean a lot. But you said “Cathy and/or Cathy's friends and family are announcing his shows canceled while he's still trying to iron out the details...and at least one of his "cancellations" announced by them took place as scheduled.” Can you explain when and where it was posted at? I have no control over what others post or say. Not even family. They are all adults. I can say that I have asked some not to post because they were upset about what was being said about me, but that is all.

enough of hearing from Tony's snake hook boy. Were is Tony? Tony, you ran your mouth good when you thought you had the upper hand. What about now? You will have everyone's support, if you just admit what you were doing and admit you have a problem and are going to fix it. Either way lets hear where you stand with everything said here. I am sure if the tables were turned you would be on here ripping into Cathy and everyone else. If you did what your friends want you to do, you will have everyone's support.

I'm as antivoid as anyone. I'm also anti freehandling and showboating with hots, allowing children to handle them...models for tshirts to handle..I could go on. What risks you are willing to take are your business, just don't blame others for not wanting to be held accountable for your actions.

It’s odd, whenever you make an offer to help someone, it will come back on you. Can you recall Brett, when we first met? I told you I was trying to get a model trained to do that photo shoot? First, I said I was trying to get one “trained” not that I was going to just hand one my diamondback and start taking photos. Second, I said these pictures will be attention getters and you are welcome to use them. I offered you something for free, I didn’t offer to sell you the rights, or make some sort of profit for myself. I saw an opportunity where I felt I could help someone in this business. Someone that I had never met or knew before. And for that I get you casting dispersions on me months later on the internet. No good deed goes unpunished in this day and age. I wish I would have known your character at the time, rest assured, I would not have offered you anything and rest assured I will not offer you anything in the future. And as for letting children handle snakes, I started catching snakes before I started kindergarten. I was housing venomous before I was 15. There was no internet then, no hot herp society, no books, and no one to learn from. I learned everything as I went. I know some teenagers whom I have worked with, and I am sure you are talking about them. They were both keeping venomous snakes before they met me. They tracked me down and asked for advise. So, its your opinion I should have ignored them and let them continue to learn on their own? I don’t see it that way. I would not have started them, but since they were already started, it seemed prudent for me to train them.

How did Tony lose thousands of dollars? at 9 bucks a head and at least 5000 people through the door...that comes to 45,000 bucks just off tickets.
Saturday, there were ~712 people in the door. Sunday had far fewer
when I left at 1:00. I was selling tickets.

If you ever had any credibility, it continues to be diminished as you make ludicrous statements on the internet. I am very glad this guy made the afore quoted post, I hate to make arguments when I do not have solid facts to back them up. You will find I do not publicly speak about subjects that I am not well versed in. I have never promoted a reptile show, however, as most of you know, I am a professional wrestler, and I have promoted many wrestling shows. Being in that business all of my adult life, I have become skilled in estimating crowds of people. I also have a dual minor with my degree, with one of my minors being economics. I would not have made the statement that he lost money unless I was confident that was an accurate statement. I did not return on Sunday, but we have an accurate account that 700 came thru the door Saturday and fewer on Sunday. The number 1200 has been mentioned, and it seems to fit the bill. 1200 @ $9 is $10,800. I “think” Tony paid $9,800 just in rent. Now factor in insurance, advertising, travel expenses, payroll, ect. He probably made back another $2k or so in Table rent, I am not sure what he charged or who he charged. The people that I knew told me he was giving them tables at ½ price. So, now he has $3000 left after he paid the rent. Brett, as I said before, he lost thousands.

Cathy wasn't the only one to call the Gwinnett Center.

I made the point to get it in writing that they show was not scheduled at Gwinnett or Americamart. The rep from Americamart told us, in writing, that they had told him the week before, they would not host the event. I lead the charge on the postponement of the first Atlanta show, not Cathy. And I did it, not because I disliked Tony (at the time) but because it was the prudent thing today. I firmly believe, Tony had no intention of informing anyone about anything pertaining to that show until we made it public on this site. The story broke right here and was followed up other places.

So, who all is going to Columbia SC next month? Personally, I'll have to do a head count on my animals as the time grows nearer. I'll be a last minute sign-up if I go.

This has always been my favorite show, but given my resent distain for the promoter, I was really questioning if I want to attend. Are you bringing Amanda? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

Hey Chuckie Baby,
I'm not sure if I'll do it or not. Nothing to do with Tony, it's just that I've been doing so much holiday shipping that I'm not sure I'll have an adequate stock of lizards left to justify me doing ANY show. Darned, wasn't that a long sentence? :uhh: If I do make it, Ramen will probably be with me. I'll just have to wait & see.

LOL Chuck. You didn't offer me anything for free. You said if I will send you 2 40" hooks you would use one of them with your model tailing a diamondback rattlesnake with some corny catchphrase about diamonds are a girl's best friend. I am a profesional photographer and I offered my services to photograph your "model" here in my studio IF she's a seasoned herper experienced in handling hots. Your reply was something to the effect of "Yeah right, like any model out there is an experienced hot handler. I'll train her". Dude, you are so going to get someone killed but not here. You might have noticed that's when I stopped responding. Now you know why.

If there were only 700 through the door saturday, most of them must have stuck around all day. I suppose that's possible. It just looked pretty full most of the day and maybe I assumed that people were constantly coming and going. Maybe Tony lost money... I don't think any of the vendors did though although my online sales for that weekend were almost as much as what I made at the show...but I'm in that Christmas rush thing right now. *shrug*.

If I do make it, Ramen will probably be with me. I'll just have to wait & see.

I am expecting a huge rush on lizards at this show. You are probably going to need Ramen and Amanda. Ha ha ha, just my thoughts. But if you must pick one, let’s go with Amanda. =))))

You didn't offer me anything for free. You said if I will send you 2 40" hooks you would use one of them with your model tailing a diamondback rattlesnake

Brett, do you really think I need 2 more 40” hooks? I am 33 years old and I have been in this business since the time I could walk. I have so many 40” hooks; I could gather them all up and use them to build a shelter for the homeless, so that Tony will have a place to live if his next show also bombs. Ok, that was a bit of humor, but illustrating the fact, I have more 40” hooks then I will ever need. I am not in the hook business and Dana does not need any advertising help. I offered you that, completely free of charge, because I think it’s a golden advertisement idea. Of course you couldn’t use it to advertise your hooks if she is holding one that Dana or I made, so I would have to have some of yours. I could tell you didn’t see the same potential for it that I do, so I didn’t mention it again. However, I was thinking that you were not a sharp business to pass up on it, now that I am able to read your true thoughts and see how you think, I am actually very relieved that you do not share my visions for this idea. If you did, I would probably scrape it as you have been wrong thus far about everything you have tried to say. Don’t consider that an insult, its just picture drawn by the facts. I didn’t come on here to insult you. Seems you took offense when I pointed out your idiotic notion that Tony made money in Atlanta and you wanted to try to degrade me in public. I don’t suffer those type of things well, especially from someone I have tried to be kind to in the past. You should cut your loses and stay out of public speaking. Everything you say is further damaging your credibility. Saying I was trying to scam you or something for 2 more hooks that I can add to my collection of about 100???? Ridiculous!!!

Wow, Brett for someone who claims you just want everyone to get along, you sure seem to be pushing everyone's buttons

Message to Chuck: I'd let my teenage kids work beside you anytime. (Although I'd have to keep an eye on you with my daughter. I know that you're sweet on her. 17'll get you 20.) :raspberry You are nothing more than a professional in my eyes. You know what you're doing & I trust you immensely! It sounds more & more like Brett may be jealous of you. Your are an experienced handler, and he's just a photographer & snake hook guy. Anyone can easily do his job. But your job is unique.

Wow, Brett for someone who claims you just want everyone to get along, you sure seem to be pushing everyone's buttons
I know this may sounds odd since I have been so hard on this guy, but I actually hate animosity among our community. When I met Brett, my outlook was positive. I was happy there was a hooksmith working just an hour from me. I have always been very pleased with Dana’s tools, but hey…he is all the way in MO and I would far rather work with and promote local guys. Man, I was on the cuff, I offered him free publicity and was excited to be working with him. But, he felt he was doing everything right and thus didn’t need me. That is fine, no hard feelings, then to find him degrading me in a public forum, when all I have ever done is tried to be kind to him, really “pushed my buttons.”

Message to Chuck: I'd let my teenage kids work beside you anytime. (Although I'd have to keep an eye on you with my daughter. I know that you're sweet on her. 17'll get you 20.)
Thank you very much for that vote of confidence. =) So many people have jumped into venomous herpiculture since the internet popularized it. Now they are quick to tell me that what I am doing is all wrong. Thing is, I have been handling these things since the 1970’s. Every once and a while you would catch a glimpse of Bill Haast on some TV show, but for the most part I was the only person that anyone ever heard of that kept venomous snakes. The term venomous herpiculture wasn’t invented and no hot herp societies existed anywhere in the world. I had trouble just convincing people that I was not an insane person. Now in the age of message boards, everyone who has read BW’s book thinks they are an expert and think they should be able to tell me how to practice an art form that I helped create. That becomes taxing on my patience. Brett has no idea who I have trained, or there ages. He has never seen me pick up a snake, with my hand or a hook….ever? Making outlandish statements about me that he has no factual basis of took me over my limit with him. But on a much lighter note, there is no law against talking, so no 20 for me. =) I am still married!!!!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha
