• Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

The Reptile Ranch Beware

Scott and Missi ?

I would hate to see all of your posts on every thread you can find about the Reptile Ranch deleted because you are not following TOS you MUST sign your full name to every post in the BOI or it can be deleted.
Scott and Missi does not work it has to be one or the other followed by the last name

Just a heads-up.

You can be issued warning points as well.

Hey Dennis,
I thought you only had to put your name if it was not listed in full on the side? Can you clarify?

Thanks

Brian

They originally just had the words Scott and Missi No last names.
They changed it.

Also, if you have two names on the account you need to post in the thread who made the statement either Scott or Missi.

Fair Hearing?

Has the buyer or lady with the under-weight bearded dragon contacted the seller to inform them of these damaging charges on the BOI?

It would only be fair to hear from the seller before any assessment is made.

I sent them an email a couple weeks ago letting them know. They responded telling me they have 100% customer satisfaction.

No live arrival is just as shady as it gets! I had a shipment from Jason at Envy the week before Christmas and the DHL shipment got stuck in Ohio in a blizzard so it was over 48 hours from shipment in the middle of December when I received the animals and THEY WERE ALL FINE! Good packing and a reputable dealer who DID guarantee his animals even well after that fact just in case they suffered some ill effects made that one of the best transactions I've had. It certainly didn't take Jason alot of effort either way to make it that way, so why would you NOT back a live arrival policy?

While it is certainly not the way I choose to do business, it IS their right to set whatever terms they see fit to operate under. No live arrival guaranty.....Shady? Not in the least. Self serving and completely one sided? Absolutely!

I personally have a short list of things that will automatically make me automatically pass on any deal

1. No live arrival guarantee

2. Not responsible for shipper error

3. If paying with PayPal add 3%

I am sure if I gave it some thought I could come up with a couple more but those three are graven in stone for me. I am sure that to a good number of you reading this one or more of those things are acceptable.....choices...we all make them.

Bottom line is that no matter how one sided or ridiculous anyones terms are you always have the easy option of saying no thanks. And it works both ways

I had a very pleasant gentleman contact me last year and let me know that he was interested in some animals that I had listed. However he politely let me know that the only way he does business is by sending personal checks by regular mail. As I have had a long standing policy of not accepting personal checks I let him know that I would have to pass on the sale. He was very pleasant and thanked me for my time. Did I lose a sale? No. I chose not to do business outside my Terms and Conditions. That was my business decision.

See...it works both ways.

We all have the ability to not do business when we choose. Bitching about someones terms is pointless That is their choice and if it works for them but you don't like it.....move on to a dealer who is more in tune with the way you like to conduct business.

Not the most intelligent response given this and the other threads regarding them.

This is odd.
From their website: http://thereptileranch.com/terms.htm
Gurarantee on Shipped Animals

Animals displayed for sale on this site are honestly represented. All animals are guaranteed to be healthy and feeding at the time of purchase. The Reptile Ranch does not guarantee live delivery. This policy was adopted due to the unpredictiable elements that may occur once and animal leaves our facility and we can no longer moderate for its care or environment. *A note on shipping: All orders will be sent, unless otherwise specified, UPS or Delta (Verified Shipper) Next Day Air, however we cannot guarantee live delivery.

No this is from this add:http://market.kingsnake.com/detail.php?cat=34&de=305364

LIVE ARRIVAL GUARANTEE ON ALL REPTILES!

Umm, wtf? Which is it, live arrival, or not live arrival. Do they put live arrival on the add to attract customers, then after the add is gone and there is a problem they point to their TOS on the website and say there was no guarantee? What is the deal Reptile Ranch??

I guess they only offer Live Arrival if it arrives alive LOL. Better take a screen shot of that add wouldn't be surprised to see it change or disappear.

Here's the picture of the ad.

Sounds like they are changing their policy... probably from the pressure. I have had no problems with them, but considering they HAVE had complaints from THEIR customers, that definitely falls short of their claim of "100% customer satisfaction" and, since they seem to be changing their policy AND reading this thread and STILL NOT responding and defending themselves, I would have to pass on doing any business with them. :(

Brian

What changed was the wording in that ad. Their TOS in their webpage are the same, “no live arrival guarantee”. In general, there are greater chances for reptiles to arrive alive than DOAs. If an accident happens and they are DOA you will more than likely be referred to their TOS.

Regards.

My recent experience I'm posting on all related threads:

How are these people still in business!? Worse, how did I not see these threads before I became another victim? I was a victim of the Mr Peanut alias...I received 4 snakes; all were horribly packed, starved, sick, and dehydrated. I'm trying to rehabilitate them the best I can, but one has a fairly advanced RI and another is yet to keep down a meal. Of course, no responses to my emails. When I first offered the snakes water, it was amazing how long they drank. I've owned snakes for years and never seen them drink as much as these did. It's just sad for the snakes' sake and, for my sake, pisses me off! What is wrong with these people and how can we stop them?
