If you have proof one way or another post it. Otherwise all it is is character assasination by innuendo. You seem like a good guy who wants to do whats right. Hinting about what you do or do not know only muddies the water. If you have facts and can back it up, print them, otherwise it's just hearsay.

I have become a Bad guy for showing that Neil had lied.These reports are the numbers that Neil gave to us all as the report numbers for the robberies.Only one is from 2001 there is none for the Dec.one where everyone gave money.I simply ask Neil privatly the same questions that I have ask here and next thing I know is he is sending out e-mails and making phone calls telling people that I stole his snakes,everyone here has seen it ask I question that he does not like and he snaps.Go back and read his post from yesterday.

Case #01-22249 Is from a burglary but it is from 3/25/01 8 months earier than the Dec.16th where everyone gave $$$$.

By the way, The March 25th,2001 was the last burlary Neil had Insurance,I am gathering the proof to show that he padded the claim by some 400 %.But some people want to say that I am wrong that I have no proof that Neil has done wrong.Well now I'm confused!!!!

You know Chris, I could lay tact by the wayside right now and truly put you in your place. However, I will refrain. I will do this with tact and candor. I suggest to you to go back in this thread, and re-read my posts. Let's see:
  1: I have kept it fair.
  2: On numerous occasions, I have stated that I am not taking sides here.
  3: I have questioned both Neil and Dave equally.
  4: In a couple of posts, I have stated that I don't want Neil to be guilty.
  5: I have also stated that I am unwilling to condemn Neil as of yet.
  6: I have stated on numerous occasions that I am going to sit back and wait for solid proof.
  7: I have stated that in order to make a fair and accurate decision/judgment/opinion, that I needed to see more proof.

Shall I go on, Chris? I can. So, if for seeking the truth you don't want to do business with me, I say keep me on your list. I also add that you have unfairly judged me. I will not forgive or forget. As I have my own list. You have condemned me, as I am now condemning you. Through all this mess, I have given both Dave and Neil the benefit of the doubt. I consider both sides equally. So, if I am wrong, please tell me. If you can find where I took a side and blasted another, show me. But make sure that it shows where I took a firm stand. Yes every post on the BOI (or any other online forum) needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

Yes we do not have the complete facts to the saga that is unfolding.

As a matter of fact the whole matter is so muddied that I doubt the facts will ever become clear.

What remains? How you conduct yourself. Credibility in your postings is a major factor in a thread like this. If Neil had slowed down and thought his posts through (giving him the benefit of the doubt that these were mistakes/misunderstandings he posted) his credibility would have remained completely intact. Now we're seeing holes and wondering "what the f*".

Is Ritchie Luna rough? Yes. Is he subtle and endearing? No. He posts exactly what he feels/knows/thinks in black and white. Take that for what you will, I know I do.

I noticed some of the names on your list chris only posted requests for clarification and one I am thinking of specifically stated on just about every post that he was not taking sides but wanted clarification on a post/issue.

How you maintain your professionalism while under fire tells me more about a vendor than any good guy/bad guy post. There has been a few vendors on this list who got a bad guy post but came back with a factual, CONTROLLED posting (even if that posting was "yes I screwed up") that I have contacted them with "send me your product lists your the type of company I want to do business with".

Just my $.02 on this screwed up mess.

Not that it matters, but  that quote came from my post, not Chris's.  I agree it's important how you present yourself, and that it does reflect on your credibility. However, a lot of people when faced with an overwhelming onslaught of negative criticism tend to lose it. It may not put them in the best light but it doesn't necessarily mean that they are guilty of anything.   Putting unfounded and unsubstantiated claims out in a public forum is not a noble or very worthwhile pursuit. It can lead to innocent people having their reputations ruined and their livelihood destroyed. It's happened all to often in history before. Does anyone remember the red scare and McCarthyism. And thats what this amounts to right now as far as I'm concerned. A witch hunt using McCarthyist tactics. Even if Neil were to be proven guilty eventually, what has happened up until this point is still wrong. I think that unless it can be backed up with hard evidence, you shouldn't put it here.

I knew the post was from your posting. I was just making all my points in one post. I apologize for the confusion no slight was intended.

I agree without facts it is impossible to make a decision on who is guilty or not. When dave entered this thread everybody was screaming for facts, that he was just pissing in the wind. The problem arose when Neil posted the "swiss cheese" posts that did NOTHING to help himself. I am not saying that Neil robbed his own store (I have no proof to back that up), I am not saying Neil padded the insurance claims (again no proof). I am saying that something is not right with Neils posts (either intentional or not).

Neil made the choice to enter the fray the way he did. You can't scream foul (well you can but its questionable  <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'> ) when people are asking him for the same proof/clarification they are asking for from dave.

I think both dave and neil are wrong in how this thread was carried out. Dave should have kept his mouth shut until he had something substantial to back up his allegations. Neil should have planned his defense better, got all his ducks in a row, and then used his reputation (which was great) backed with facts to lay waste to any speculation.

with all going on doesn't it make you wonder where December money went or what is going on in this case

Ross- I do not agree that this has been a witch hunt and that McCarthyist tactics have been employed. I do however agree that without hard evidence, this should not be here. I have stated that previously. But the sad fact is that is already here. Funny thing is, this has become the most notorious thread in BOI history. Believe it or not, Neil has a lot of friends out here. A lot of friends who are very hurt at the way Neil has portrayed himself. Even you have to admit, that alot of decent questions have been raised and not answered. If you follow blindly, and the one follow turns out to be guilty, what then? You have lost credibility and your name goes down as well. Also, if the guilty person is willing to deceive everyone, then what protects you from said person scamming you? Just my .02 cents of opinion. Thanks for the debate and have a nice day.

I forego the fact that there is no report for a 1999 robbery.
But the second burgaly he speaks of is the case # 01-22249 dated March 25,2001.In his own hand wrote this :

"The second time, they stole my 6' Albino Female and some other nice stuff....I was PAID by the Insurance company for THAT ONE, TOO!! After they PAID ME....they CANCELLED MY INSURANCE for THEFT!!"

But you can see from the report that he said 1.1 Albino redtail Boas were taken.That is what was turned into the insurance company,and the paid him for the pair.

I know that if I were to have a pair of Albino Boas stolen I would remember that.

Excelent statement Daniel. I agree 100% with you.

At least from my perspective this is not anymore about who was responsible for the burglaries, but about how you conduct yourself in your personal life. There is no solid proof that Neil did nothing illegal, and there might never be. But we have enough proof that we were lied more than once. Some of us have also received pretty nasty e-mails just because we dared to ask questions (for the time I'm going to keep that one to myself).

In the position he is right now it's probably unfair to ask him to answer some questions concerning the burglary, as his lawyer is advising him not to answer them. Any other questions with regards to how you conduct your business (the ARU, the ball pythons, etc.) are fair game.

You both make some very good points. All I can say is that I hope this thing is resolved quickly with the least amount of damage to everyone involved possible. I don't know the participants in this debate personally and I am in no position to judge who is credible and who is not. You are right it's turned in to a mess from which no one will emerge unscathed. I appreciate your points of view.

In Neil's own words...there are four police reports for four roberies..

then how come he (Neil) or Dave can't come up with a police report for december?

Neils swears the police report number case # 01-22249 is for December...welp it does not take a genious to see that it is for March.

Where is the december police report?
Does it actually exist?
How long did you stay in contact with James Thornton after the burglaries and donations?
How long have you known that his daughter was in the hospital?
Where did the money go?
Why did you lie to the PI about your regular contacts with Thornton?
You guys can call this a witch hunt..I call it necessary questions that need to be answered.
He better get himself that lawyer...because things are just getting dimmer and dimmer for him.

Advice
When you lie make sure to get your ducks in a row.
Do not lie to a private investigator.
When you say you made a police report....you better produce a number.

Dave, Neil - please go to a mediator and settle this. Whether or not this trashing of character on both sides was intended, it needs to seriously stop.

All the "he said -- he said" stuff is, I fully agree, aggrevating and completely unprofitable for this forum.  I wish it would never have begun, but the two main belligerents of this issue made it so.  

However, I fail to see how asking for an explanation about the OBVIOUS descrepancies concerning the dates on those police reports can be construed as witch hunting or McArthyistic in any way.  I am the one that Neil told, "you've made a friend in Tampa" when he saw me making the same type of inquiries toward Dave's unsubstantiated claims.  Why is it now witch hunting when I do the same with Neil in an effort to be nothing less than even-handed?

I believe the reports produce a very difficult situation for Neil, and it behooves him to set that situation straight.  If that is asking too much, what CAN one be asked to show his credibility?

I was not going to say anything here, but I feel I need to.
I also gave a donation in December. I did it because I felt it was the right thing to do, and to help support one of our own.
I read the BOI mostly at home around dinner time, and I have  more than once read aloud to my wife some of the things that are said and/or expossed here. When I had to tell her that our donation was stolen, it sucked!
To all of you that also donated...do you feal used,untrusting, plain old pis$ed?? I know we do.  
Now on top of that we have this mess. I want to know the truth, if for no other reason than to stop fealing like I have
SUCKER! tattooed on my forehead....because that is how I feel right now. Neil got ripped off....so did I (twice???)
It is bad enough to have the donation gone, but to be had at the same time is too much.
