There is obviously a confusion here. There is no hate whatsoever involved, but unconditional "love" and respect for the truth. Whatever that is.

If all the people in this forum have waited this long for an answer it was simply because we were told we were going to be provided with one as soon as the PI report arrived. That never happened and it seems at this point it might never will. I hold no grudges against none of the parties involved. Please mark my words.

There is a very simple solution to this problem, and it is to handle it as other cases have been handled.

If WE decide not to deliver the "goods" WE promised (notice I am using the term "WE" meaning I can agree that posting the report might create more problems), the only alternative is to return every penny to those that send their hard-earned money. We don't deliver what people paid for, we return the money, as simple and straightforward as that.

This is my honest opinion and hope it is not "labeled" as hatred.

Hmm... Looks like this thread has developed a problem where the first message that should be on the next page does not display.

So, Mr. Garcia, just whom exactly are you recommending that should return that money?  That money went to James Thornton.  You have my blessing to try to track him down and get your money back from him.

I took my own personal funds from my own pocket (adding further insult to injury, by the way) to pay off the debt incurred by the work Mr. Crowley did.  I also paid out a LOT of money up front to get this site back up and running so it would be available for YOU along with everyone else.  I also donated money to the Neil Gubitz fund in two different instances.  Don't EVEN ask me to calculate the number of hours I have put into this thing.

If you are suggesting that I pay YOU back some money simply because you are miffed that I have good reason to withhold publishing that report at this time, then your suggestion is duly noted and will be given all due consideration.  But if you truly think that I am going to take one more dollar out of my pocket over this incident, then you are sorely mistaken.  NO ONE out there has lost more money over this than I have.  Actually all of you combined haven't even come close to the expense this has all cost me.  And you want even more?

If you want to be the ringleader to instigate a lynching party over my decision to be prudent with this document, then knock yourself out.  Just be careful about what you wish for.

Lynching party? Hope that's a joke. Check my previous postings will you? Have you ever seen me involved in something like that? I have always tried to help different parties resolve their issues. I even received nasty private e-mail messages but decided not to post them to avoid fanning the flames. I do my best to try to mediate rather than create problems.

Well, nice to see that some things don't change when you go on vacation.

Personally I think we should all back off of this and relax. If Rich doesn't want to post the report, that's his prerogative. After all, he did pay off the rest of the money owed, and does have the report in his possession. If the first time it gets opened is during a day in court, so be it...short of hunting down Rich, there isn't much that can be done...and I seriously doubt that anyone here is stupid enough to do that (please don't prove me wrong)

Getting our money back as Daniel suggested just isn't going to happen...Rich never touched that money, James did. If I had the spare time and lived closer, I'd pay James a visit with a few of my larger friends...perhaps someone from this board knows someone back there looking for entertainment?

Rich has already donated quite a bit for the fund and this site....between the four burglaries, I've lost a lot more than Rich has spent (probably)....you don't see the other folks who donated coming on here crying to get their money back...they know better, they realize that it had nothing to do with anything here! Don't try to be the "new sheriff in town", if everybody that donated money wanted it back?? They know to go to James...they don't need you to do their battles for them...

I think Daniel has tried to express his opinion without making it personal. In the dealings of Webslave on this site he has always had a logical reason for his actions, I can only assume that there is a logical reason that will be explained in time. I also want to see this report (it's better than the season finale of "who shot JR") and whether it states directly "who dun it", says "so and so didn't do it" or only muddies the water even worse it not being posted allows the immagination to run wild on what is said in the PI report. Personally with all the benefits we get from this free site I'm willing to be patient a little longer.

OK first Yes i paid in on the "to catch a thief" fund Yes i was pissed over the fact  not only did i loose a mere $25.00  but i also had 2 other chrages on my account for my credit card ! ok so i was upto $75.00i also  had thoughts like all of us have at one time ..HIRE ALAWYER FINDEM AND GET MY DAMN $$$$ back

What I am posting here is in no way looking for a flame war or personal attack on anyone. This is my opinion on it.

The comments recently made about stock and rich owning this site and not oweing an explanation to anyone about the pi report i have to disagree with.

Yes, this is a nice site to use and yes for free is nice also. But,it is on this site donations were asked for and on this site you were told where to send the donations. If not for this site no donations would have been sent. So, with rich being the owner of this site or major stockholder of this site he is to a degree responseable for what took place with the donations. Stockholders are entitled to a report of what took place with their funds.

I donated $20.00 to the cause and I am in no way looking for my money back. I am just asking for a report for which my money was spent on. Wether the original money was stolen or not. This site asked and directed me where to send my money. The individual in charge of the funds was decided by rich not by the majority of the people who sent money in.

I am not attacking rich and if at this time he chooses not to release the report that is fine. But, sooner or later it should be posted or a copy sent to the ones who donated.

Like any idividual who owns a company something can go bad and the owner isn't even involved but the owner is still responseable.

Rich I understand you have put much money and time into this site. But, every time you get angry or don't like what is said you remind all of us of that. Running this site for free is a choice you have made. I have said before and I will say it again this is number 1 site in my book and at anytime a membership fee is needed to belong or post on here I will gladly pay up.

I know many people will not agree with me and that is fine. We are all entitled to our own thoughts and opinions.
For anyone who feels I have offended them I apologize.

Seriously, Scott, do you believe it would be better that I just assume that everyone on the BOI has been here forever and knows the score?  That would be better to do?  Sorry, but I take the messages I read at face value and interpret what the person says.  In some instances they come across as someone brand new to this forum, so I certainly don't want to assume they knew what happened even just 6 months ago.
True or not, Mr. Garcia sounded like he is in that category, as the topic of payback has been hashed to death in other threads in this very board.  His cavalier statement about paying back everyone led me to believe that he was not cognizant of the history of this entire affair.  Certainly it would be foolish for me to assume that he knew all the background details instinctively, don't you think?

BTW, check the numbers of new registrants.  New people are signing up here every day.  And that certainly doesn't include visitors that are not interested in registering. How many of them would have a clue about what was being discussed and understand the full situation?  So I feel it is best to explain things in detail, even if it means it may be redundant and old hat to a few of the readers.

I also contributed to this fund, and feel the report should be published for everyone to read. Mr. Neil Gubitz says he wants it to be sent to everyone who contributed money, and that would be fine also. I think that Rich Z. could go to Kinko's, have a copy of the report made, and send the copy to Neil. Neil could then send out unedited copies to all who have contributed and maybe he could put an end to this. Once the report is in Gubitz's hands, Rich Z. would be totally FREE of any responsibility. I would also like to add that I would be more than happy to send Rich Z. $25.00 to help w/his costs. Let me know where to send the $$.
 
You are all terribly mistaken if you think the report is going to help in this situation. First of all, if there was any EVIDENCE in that report it would have been made available in such a way as to assist in prosecuting someone.
So if there is clearly no evidence then all it is going to be is a summarization of hearsay and any conclusions drawn would be based primarily on the slant of the PI's personal leanings at the time he stopped working on this project. Although both parties have been verbalizing a willingness to have the report posted one of them has already been attacking the credibility of the PI which I am TOTALLY surprised to see since they should know how that feels.  Regardless of which way the report slants it will still boil down to the bickering and he said, she said seesaw.
While I personally would like to see the report I have to admit that it would be more for entertainment value at this point only since I am certain it will reveal nothing. With that in mind and knowing how Rich would be one of the first among us to step up to the plate to protect freedom of speech and truth, I have resigned myself to trust his judgement in this matter ESPECIALLY since HE PAID FOR THE REPORT and WE DIDN'T.
So I think it is only fair that everyone back off and give the guy some room to breath and think it about it. There might be more going on behind the scenes than most here realize.

John is absolutely correct! What makes any of you think that this report is going to be "the end of this"! It "might" just be the beginning for me....look, I "know" I didn't do any of the crap Lawson accused me of, and whether you guys believe it or not, that's a really inconsequential point right now, because it won't phase me one way or the other....IF there is anything in that report that I can actually PROVE to be false (where I was, who I was with, what date, what time, etc.)....someone is in for a lot of "legal" trouble....and I'm NOT talking about Rich or this site! If that report was legitimate and actually "tells" who burglarized my store, the cops would have been all over that person already....I have not had one conversation with any officer of any law enforcement agency for any reason concerning my burglaries....I find that rather odd, considering the circumstances....If the investigator(?) really did have proof of my guilt...he sure as heck wouldn't sit on it, he'd give that information to the cops ASAP and they would take it from there...."They" haven't taken it anywhere!! I've been talking about the investigator in the same way ever since he sent ME on that wild-goose chase to check out a "white snake" that turned out to be an Albino Burm, and NOT an Albino Boa!! I was not pleased! But, John...it is not my responsibility to get that report to anyone....it doesn't belong to me, I was just the "object of it's affection", so to speak....whatever Rich wants to do with that report, ie, post it, burn it, let it collect dust forever, send my lawyer and I a copy, or whatever....I don't mind, cause as I've said over and over again...I've got NOTHING to hide!!

As far as Lawson goes.... I promised Rich that I would try to hold my "tongue"!....of course...even Julie couldn't stand him anymore and now she's (supposedly) back with her ex! And NO...my legal battle with Lawson is FAR from over....everything legal uses more down-time than you could imagine! ....Neil

But I will tell him this, My personal life is just that mine.Now I have Neil telling things that he knows nothing about.Yes Julie and I are no longer seeing each other but we see and talk to each other everyday.I ask here to move out.She is moving back to Mississippi so We think that it was best to stop living together and remain friends.I really do not think that she is back woth Lyman (I have not been told that story) and anyone that has talked to Julie at any of the shows has heard her tell horror stories of what he did to her and about his stealing, drinking and what not heck Neil you have heard say it to you.If she did so be it.
 
I, for one, trust Rich to do what needs to be done without any questioning in my mind about it.  However, I do hope that the situation permits the publication of this report one day, and I totally disagree that this information should only be made available to those who chipped in for the burglary fund.  

The reason I say this is because the questions that may or may not be answered in that report have grown far beyond the initial purpose of that fund.  The contributors were helping out a fellow herper in need and were ripped off by someone.  But it has been 100+ pages of this thread that have brought so many people into the fray since that time.  I have personally been attacked via email and other means by some in this discussion, and I have been accused of all sorts of things by people I thought had integrity, but their reactions have shown otherwise.  Though I did not (at the time) have the money to help in the original call, I have very much become personally invovled in the aftermath.  

This being true, I believe that the "loop" of people who have viable intrests in what that report says is quite a bit larger than simply limiting it to those who were actually ripped off initially.  Quite frankly, if we were to apply this logic (of limiting the "evidence" to those who lost out) to all discussions on the BOI, there would be no posts whatsoever except between the parties involved.  That is not how things have been done here before, and I don't believe it should be handled that way in this case either.

I trust the webslave to make his judgment based on whatever considerations he has to take into account.  That trust I offer him is based on my firm belief that he is an honest and honorable person.  However, I think that the fullest amount of information available to this thread ought to be made public as soon as is possible so that the same trust I give to Rich can either be extended or withdrawn to or from those protagonists involved as each of us determines is required by that evidence.

Hurry up and wait.   That's the one thing I got real good at doing in the service.  I can wiat a while longer yet.
 
Darrin....try this scenario....let's say that Rich put up a post asking everybody if they wanted to "combine forces" and enter the "St. Pete Time's Superbowl Pool"....let's say that 50 people put in money....let's say the number was a winner...let's say you, (Darrin) decided NOT to put any money into the kitty.....do you really think you are entitled to any part of the proceeds just because you are part of the thread??? Absolutely not! Just like THIS thread....you are only "personally" involved because you wanted to GET personally involved in something that you had no business in in the first place...you have no personal knowledge of anything that happened, you have no part in the burglaries (I hope, lol), you're only reason for being in this thread is to hound me to answer your questions that started out as hearsay and innuendo from Lawson! Sorry, buddy....that's just not how it works! Now, don't get me wrong ....I am sincerely grateful to ALL of you who donated money for my cause, but, that has nothing at all to do with this thread??? IF you had donated money, then yes, you ARE personally involved (monetarily speaking), and you should be given a chance to see what you paid for....other than that, you have no right to see the report at all! ....Neil
