In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I just received my albino Burmese female from Neil Gubitz of The Snake Pit. She arrived well packaged and alive and kicking. Not to mention all the annoying emails he kindly put up with from start to finish. I could not be happier with the animal or the service. So three cheers and a round of beers for my new supplier from now on. Thanks again Neil.

Neil does sell quality animals and in my opinion has great customer service also. He is a good source for all your herp needs (snakes, lizards, etc...).

I know some of you might, or might not, miss him on this board. But he is good for the herp business. I would not hesitate to do biz with him again.

I love to see Tim get excited from good guy post too!

I meant "Keep your head up High" Sorry for the mis-spell.

And yes Lucas, Neil has been banded from posting on this site.

Really?  That's news to me.  What was the specific reason?  Can I read about what all happened?  Is there dialogue on one of the threads?  I looked through here and the general discussions and couldn't find anything.

I am sorry for another mis-spell.(I am getting use to a new computer, and keyboard).

Boy, I guess I'm out of the loop.  I just found that out too.

I understand why it was done, but I'll miss Neil's input on situations...

That being said, all I can say is that Neil is one of the absolute easiest persons to do business with.  Everything is quick, efficient, and goes completely smoothly.  And most of us who do enough business in the herp world know how rare that is! No hassles!  I love it.

Ok, and that dancing is TOO FUNNY.  I want that spiderman as my screen saver.

Since the thread seems to be wandering slowly in that direction, I'm just going to say it outright...

My personal feeling is that Neil's posts that were NOT about Dave and Vise Versa were all very benificial, helpful, topical, observant and intelligent posts made by a man who, again, outside of all the unpleasantness with Dave, had a great reputation for being an honest and respectable man. I know that I certainly valued his insights on every subject or every tale he related about business dealings... Except those were he and Dave got into it.

And I'd say the exact same thing about Dave were the situation between the two reversed. It's unfortunate that these guys couldn't get along and that it came to this conclusion...

I must say that I don't particularly agree with the descision that was made surrounding Neil... But I also reccognize that it was not my descision to make and I have the utmost respect for Webslave and any descisions made, simply as a respect for the process, if not the individual descision, and- outside of this particular choice- there have been no others that I have done anything but agreed with 100%.

The thing here... About Neil... Is that, unlike so many others who dissapear because of incorrect posts or crossing lines... He will not come back on another name. Will not sneak back and continue Underwood style...

Essentially, he's a good man. An honest man.  A respectable man who by his very association does a great service for the entire industry. His prescence will be missed.

I would ask that Webslave perhaps... consider a mitigation if not outright repeal of the ban... Perhaps a probationary period or... Well, computers aren't my thing so I do not know what steps could be taken for an alternative solution...

I can not and would not demand anything of this nature of course, but seeing good people dissapear isn't a very positive thing for the ideals this board seemed founded upon... (Seeing them fight with one another wasn't either of course).

I ask for leiniency. As a request for the good of the industry...

And it is my sincere hope that nobody starts up any of the surrounding fights that occured without even the two really involved participating. I don't think Neil or Dave is in need of anyone to fight their battles for them and the formation of camps that will bash one out of some obscure loyalty to the other is inappropriate.

And this request and my thoughts on the matter would be identical were the situation reversed as to the two who were warned. Good herpers are in seemingly shorter and shorter supply, the loss of even a single one is signifigant.

Seamus,

Your post on this thread has nothing to do with the thread title. This was a good guy post from an individual that had a good dealing with neil. If you could not add to that then you should have not posted. Your post is way off topic and should be deleted by the webslave. Why is it so hard for everyone to follow very simple rules. Your post will now open the door to multiple post which have nothing to do with the topic of the thread. If you felt a need to post what you stated that is fine but it should have been done in the correct area. There is that thread in the general discussion part about neil. Hopefully the webslave will nip this in the bud before it gets carried away. My post also should be delteted from here. If you feel the need to respond to me I will only respond back in the general discussion section.

Like Scott said.....  I started a poll on the discussion forum for everyone's opinion on the Neil situation.  I know a lot of ppl don't even check that forum, so if you read this, take it over there.  I would def. like to see what the overall reaction of the readers of this forum are.....
Lucas

While I agree with what Scott and Lucas said about it not being on the original topic. I do NOT think it is their place to sit in judgement nor was it their place to post on it or about it. Leave that for Webslave or Moderator01. I realize that I am also posting where I shouldnt be. However Scott and Lucas you also need to realize that it wasnt Seamus who brought this thread off topic and to hammer on him for it isnt right. Im an opinionated person and these are my opinions on this subject.

I started that poll because the moderator asked that any further discussion regarding Neil's banning be discussed there.  I certainly wasn't hammering on Seamus.  If I came off as rude, I certainly didn't mean to.  I was simply trying to get more opinions over on the general discussions so they would be in the same place and the correct place.  I also directed ppl there from here because many people, including myself, do not normally read that forum as faithfully as this.  Sorry if it appeared I was hammering on Seamus, that was not my intention at all.....

Oh yeah... I said nothing whatsoever about him being a good guy... Completely off topic, horribly inappropriate, I should be ashamed of myself.

The topic shift was not originated by me. Not by any stretch of the imagaination... I merely expounded upon it in a manner that I feel was, to say the least, polite and appropriate to the turn the discussion had taken.

While it may have been more appropriate to the general discussion board, obviously, it was started here.

Responding here obtained responses, encouraged discussion and furthered both the inteded topic and the secondary one that had been introduced... Starting a thread of my own or even responding to the one that Lucas kindly started on another board would certainly not have had the same effect.

As you say... The Webslave moderates (among miriad other duties) these boards. Your attempt to perform that function for him is, by your logic, also highly inappropriate. I might suggest you look to your own actions before casting judgement on those of others... I have no moral qualms with anyone posting much of anything, provided they take responsibility for their actions... You seem to have problems with this line of thinking, do you then hold that you are exempt from the moral strictures you set forth to apply to others?

Just a thought.

And Lucas, I hadn't taken the comments that way in the least, although I did end up reading them immediatly after the others.
