    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

The Truth Obout The BOI!!!!

Alas, I had my suspicions about Adam's lack of integrity and sincerity, but I was willing to give him the benefit of doubt. Unfortunately, he has gone and stuck his foot in his mouth again.

Adam, you have no one to blame for the responses you got, save for yourself. Your words were not twisted or manipulated- they were taken at face value. Check your ego, and reread your original posts/replies.

I'm sure all of you arm chair moderators could certainly do a better job of it than I am, so why haven't you created your own site and done so?

In case anyone is under the impression that they are being held here against their will, you are hereby informed that you are welcome to leave at any time you desire to do so.  Or do you want me to block your access as Adam Block requested of me so I can help to break your addiction to this site?

Just exactly what do you think I will be losing if you go away and don't come back?  Certainly nothing monitarily, because you haven't paid a dime for the privilege of being here.  And I certainly will not be heartbroken over the loss of your witty writings and interesting discussion, since in most cases it is neither, at least in my opinion.

Truth of the matter is, I really don't care about much of the discussion that takes place here, so I am certainly not going to waste my time reading all of it.   So yes, there is going to be garbage posted here that I will never know about.  If it is garbage to some of you, then I don't think it will  be stretching your brains to much to consider that it is probably garbage to me as well.  And, as you can, I can chose not to read it.

But who is to say which information that is garbage to me will be the in the same category to you?  So if I delete everything that is garbage to me, maybe this site would be much more interesting to me, but what about everyone else? How many people will scream bloody murder because I deleted what was to them a well thought out message, but to me was just garbage?  Suppose I just made the simple policy that ANY message that had more than one percent of the words in it spelled incorrectly would be considered garbage and therefore deleted?  This would be an EXTREMELY lonely place here!

Here's a news flash for you all:  I am providing this site AS IS for you all to use to the best of your abilities.  If YOU put garbage into it, then expect you will see garbage from other people as well, as they follow your example.  If you have to wade through garbage to find tidbits of information of interest to you, well gee, life is really tough on you, now isn't it?   Mean old WebSlave won't delete everything except what YOU want to read?  Aww......

Yes, I could certainly delete a lot of threads in here, but I believe that even garbage can yield information if you know how to look at it.  Take this thread for example.  99 percent garbage and completely irrelevant to the aims of the BOI.  But it allowed Adam Block the opportunity to show his true colors and prove that his 'apology' was nothing but a ploy at damage control.  IMHO.

Sometimes a person posting garbage gives a pretty good picture of what you can expect in your dealings with him/her.  Isn't that what you want to learn here?

So for all of you whom feel the need to whine about this place, please just go away and don't bother coming back.  You will not be missed by me, and probably not by everyone else that is gaining some valuable insights from this site.  If this site is not of value to anyone, then when it dies, it will be no skin off of my butt at all.  I have absolutely nothing at all to lose if that happens, so frankly my dear, I don't give a damn.
 
Well said webslave. Less censurship = greater awareness. I truly hope that noone leaves. If the morons don't have a place to adequately express their incompetence then the rest of us are that much more vulnerable. Give them all the rope they want to hang themselves. That's the cool thing about free speech. Morons are not only allowed, but encouraged to participate. That way we all know who to avoid.
 
Webslave, ghesss guess I struck a nerve.  The only point I was trying to make was, don't make rules you can not, or will not want to, or have time to follow. If you really want to make this site AS IS (as you stated in your post) remove the rules, and quit moderating it.  I like the BOI, at one point I thought this was probably the best site on the net, of any type.  But, I don't like soap operas, and much of what gets posted here is just soap opera.  I agree with every rule you have in place.  I just wish they were followed more closely.  If that were done, this site could go back to what it was (a valuable tool).  Not that it isn't now, but how valuable is a tool if you can't find it for all the garbage stacked on top of it <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

I find this soooo very funny. This site is a tool and if people take the time to learn how to use it and apply what info you get out of it there would not be scam artist in the herp trade plain and simple. I have been coming here for about a year lurking and reading but never posting because I had nothing to add until the Amazon  thing and then I registered and posted the facts. But what I see alot of is B.S. post that have little or nothing to do with the topic it was posted in, case in point 1 month or so ago there was a thread and it turned into who is the beast football team and the biggest fan. Those post were trash and wasted time and bandwidth even after the webslave warned the people they continued to post football. I would like to suggest that all post stay on topic and somewhat factual of said topic and keep it about reptiles, I don't care if a person did not pay his phone bills, what they drive or in what direction he or she wipes their butt. What I do care about is am I going to get the animal that I paid for. If you see a thread that does not concern you or you do not like well don't post in it or read it. If these simple hints are applied it will make the B.O.I. more enjoyable for everyone. My opinion

No one here is going to accuse you of being a hillbilly.  As a multi-generational member of the hillbilly club, I can assure you that we KNOW what our last names are!  You're not going to see ME signing one of my posts as "Darin Chapman" any time soon.  Why not?  Because I don't have to worry about which fake name I used to sign up on the BOI!

Just for the record, my mention of spelling abilities had nothing to do with you or your messages.  This was pointed to those posts where not only is English appearing to be far from a first language to the poster, but them even being a human being is in doubt.  Sometimes it looks like their dog is walking on the keyboard.  Yours did not fall into that category, and I am sorry you took it that way.

But be that as it may, I don't see any reason to repeat what I have already said before.  Apparently you only skimmed my posting and did not read it fully.  I invite you to spend more time and read it again, this time making note of the points I brought up about how much time I am willing to spend on a service I am providing you for free.  If you all want to pay for this service and provide me with enough income that I can scale back the other things I need to do that puts food on the table, well then, make me an offer.

Come to think of it, what's to keep YOU from being one of the local police on this board and making an effort at helping me enforce the rules?  YOU read every message posted here and then contact me when there is a problem.  OK?  Let's see how well you can do at that since you don't like the way I am doing it.

There are no cliques [clicks]
The Boi is like the lemon law in some states[it weeds out the cr@p]
The boi is one of the most useful tools for REPUTABLE dealers
The boi is FREE...get it FREE!!!!!
There are some regulars , but if thier bad they are verbally cut off
Bad, dishonest people do not LAST
Good honest people do
You can sell your animals without paying for advertising
You can also inquire about a dealer and get responces
You can read about others and the experiences they have with other dealers

     I would like to say my opinion about the BOI was wrong.  I was merely saying and refering to people as jackals because I was being jumped on.  To be honest I deserved to be jumped on and brought it on myself.  I can say those folks that jumped on me are more than willing to accept an apology and stand behind you when your right.  All you have to do is be sincere.
 I am glad the BOI is here and I know it has helped me make decisions as well as help me with myself.

With all due respect to whom have commented on this situation.
First I am new here and have been doing my research on dealers and so forth. I have found many great easy going dealers. True to the aspect I have not recieved nor have I purchased anything from them.
However Is it due right to slam someone? To each their own, But it sounds to me as if you are doing the same to them. This is not kindergarden. We cant run and tell our mommy's. This is a adult site for us to share our pets and sell.

Let those whom feel it necessary do their own research and find out what they would like to. I agree 50% with your comment when you said just make sure they are a good dealer. I dont agree with you slamming them back, whether they did you or not.

You will have a difference of opinion etc with some people. So be it leave it go. Dont keep going on about it.
Clicks? well everyone has friends. That is all I have to say to that.

Not trying to start a wave of fights. Just stating MY OPINION!
