In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This snake was produced by NERD, if you would like to question the genetics and tell NERD that they are wrong then please feel free.

If they're claiming they have a 100% SD het. albino then they're definitely wrong. Unless someone found a naturally occurring super dwarf albino and kept quiet about it, which doesn't seem very likely.

I still have to imagine this was a misunderstanding, because if you're not keen on how the super dwarf/dwarf thing works it can be confusing. Being 100% sure that it's super dwarf and being 100% super dwarf are two very different things. People refer to any snake with at least 50% super dwarf blood simply as super dwarf, which I'm guessing is where all of this confusion lies. A pure super dwarf is much more valuable, and simply put, impossible to obtain with any morph other than anery.

Are you sure that you purchased a het. amel and not a het. anery? It would be strange to list an albino retic without mentioning which line it came from, considering there are white, lavendar, and purple albino retics, and some are more desirable than others.

It became obvious from my brief conversation and they ads that The Jungle uses "creative" marketing, if you will. Like their listing on of "Albino Dodoma" sand boas. They crossed a snow with an albino x dodoma cross and then they're calling the offspring albino dodomas....when the dodoma influence has been so diluted that they look like your standard albino.
Pure localities and bloodlines are important to certain hobbyists and places like this just don't get it. You're better off getting those type animals directly from the source, rather than a middleman.

I'm personally not a huge locality buff and don't get too involved with it, but I know that a lot of people do and I completely get it. For me, the pure bloodline isn't as important as what the implication is when you claim something is a super dwarf. If I'm expecting a snake that's going to be a 7 foot adult and the next thing I know I have a 15-20 foot snake, I'm not going to be very happy.

If this snake has even 50% SD blood that's not going to happen and it will still stay small, but from a breeding standpoint I need to know what percentage of blood my offspring are going to have. If I sell a snake that I think is 50% SD (because the parent I used was supposedly 100%) and get a message three years later from someone with a massive snake, that's not going to fly.

What really bothers me about this is that they aren't willing to listen to anyone and even look into it to see if maybe they're wrong. A two minute google search will tell you that it's impossible to have a 100% SD het albino. I completely understand that mistakes happen, but if you refuse to correct them even after people try to help you cover your own butt...it doesn't look good.

I accidentally listed a tegu as the wrong locality a few months back and after someone messaged me I looked into it I realized I was wrong. I fixed it and thanked them, and admitted that I don't know much about tegus and that I appreciated their help. It's not that hard to admit you're wrong and do some research. Most of the time people are just trying to help you, getting defensive is not an appropriate response for an honest seller.

Exactly. You try to correct them (for both theirs and the buyer's sake) and they dismiss you or delete your comment. I see it happen way too often where people have an understanding of what they are buying, only to post on forums later and find out they got something completely different.

We spoke to the person that we got the animal from. This snake was produced by NERD, if you would like to question the genetics and tell NERD that they are wrong then please feel free. Instead of repeatedly commenting on this and making a huge deal please call and talk to us about this in person. Call in to the store and speak with the owner, Jay. He will gladly talk to you about the animal. Our number is 954 427 2938.

If you read carefully, you will see that they are saying they spoke (nothing in writing) to whoever they got the snake from. And that they are saying snake was produced by NERD.
There is a lot of opportunity for miscommunication here, especially if the person they spoke with was a middleman or a buyer who subsequently sold to TJF.

I certainly hope this was not an attempt to throw NERD under the bus and that this entire incident was really, really poor communication skills coupled with some attitude. (Thank you Jon for initiating the thread).
Speaking of communication, whoever posted on behalf of TJF in this thread has still not said who they are, or whether they(plural, they used the word 'we') are Jay Eaton who is listed as the account owner.

Let me try to clear this up. This is Jay, the owner. I have other people posting my ads on fauna as well as other websites. I am trying to run my retail store and many of you may know, running retail is alot of time, so i have 2 other people posting ads. This is why it is stated that if you have any questions to please feel free to call the store and ask for me. I apologize if what we have posted may be incorrect. I DO NOT breed retics and received this animal in on a deal with other animals. Just like any other animal that is being sold as "hets", you never know if this is true until being bred. I was told the animal came from NERD and am not trying to throw anyone under the bus. I have had other retic guys see this snake and no one has ever mentioned that this couldnt be possible until we posted it. What would have been nice is instead of people bashing other people right off the bat online, I miss the good ol days when people would pick up the phone and talk about an issue. I have removed the ad since there is speculation of this animal. If I sell this animal, I have my name on it. As far as the Albino Dodoma, the adults were produced by Russo out in Portland and he is selling his stuff on KS. Are you questioning his stock as well. Im not going to get into an arguing match here online. I have stated and hopefully answered any questions there were about this. If you have any other issues with me, my staff, my animals, please contact me so we can discuss what you feel is inaccurate. 954-427-2938

Written responses here are better.

The OP did contact you and instead of investigating what he was trying to tell you, you blew him off. You still have not addressed his issue, although you could easily have called NERD (the good old days when people just picked up the phone, remember?) and then posted about the genetic issue that the OP was trying to convey.

Jay, in the future, only you should be posting under your account.

Additionally, in order to fix the matter of post #18 in this thread, you should state the full name of the person who actually typed that post. Otherwise, we may have a problem.

Change your password. Accounts that are consider compromised are subject to removal.

If I were in this situation, I would have your employees post under their own accounts bearing their own names if you want them to have stand-in roles

Just like any other animal that is being sold as "hets", you never know if this is true until being bred.

To be perfectly honest I'm a little concerned by this statement. If you're buying from a reliable source then there shouldn't be any question as to whether it's a het before you breed it.

Not being an expert on every single species is perfectly fine and totally understandable, but not being open to advice or suggestions from people who know more about them is silly in my opinion.

Rather than look at these messages as an attack and getting defensive, you should be looking at this as an opportunity to learn more about the animals you're selling to avoid issues in the future. Super dwarf and 100% super dwarf mean two very different things, just like dodoma and dodoma cross are two different things. It's not that there is anything wrong with the animals themselves (and they're still desirable either way), it's just that the way they're being listed is not accurate.

And as Lucille mentioned, the guy DID send you a private message and you ignored him, which is the only reason this thread was posted to begin with.

Not sending a private message to you

Yes, as Lucille stated and the last poster on the thread posted, I did send you a private message before I brought this to everyone's attention. Also, even if the animal is being sold to someone with the intent of only being a pet your information to be correct because if said individual ends up for some reason having to sale the snake he/she needs to be able to provide correct information on the snake so that person knows what they are purchasing because they indeed may be purchasing the animal to breed. If you think I am being out of place in taking the action I did, you should see how people in the arachnid community react if someone has something listed incorrectly or mention common names of the tarantula. Arachnid people, serious ones at least, throw a damn conniption fit if you mention something by common name because it is more accurate to list it by scientific name. However in the reptile community a lot of species are named by common name because that is what they are known as and can be easier to distinguish than some arachnid species. Thanks for the support everyone!!!
