In all honesty, if you made beginner mistakes and don't know how to care for the animal, asking retail price for one that is having issues feeding, mites, shedding and more should be adopted out, and not for $400. You cannot expect people to spend full on retail price that is normally paid for 100% healthy animals, for one that you got on impulse and is in need of proper care. You are expecting people will want to pay for an animal that could very well infect their collection (not only from mites, but from potential illness not being kept at proper temps, etc). It will cost money from the person that adopts the animal now for a vet trip, as well as mite treatment (it is not cured in one hit by any wild stretch of the imagination, so you will need to continue treatment until it is adopted out), as well as now time and effort to get her shedding and eating well again.
Please, put your pride aside and get that baby to someone that knows what they are doing, so they can take it to a vet and put it in a proper environment. I would then recommend if you want to really keep ball pythons, or another species of reptile, that you take a step back and prepare yourself for it by reading some great books and also going online looking up care info from reputable sites and breeders.
I completely understand getting excited about an animal and wanting to jump the gun and just get it, but I'm a stickler for getting animals AFTER doing research. It is not fair to yourself or the animal to impulse buy. I'm sure getting them and realizing later the care involved was a very humbling experience, but now is the time to do right by the animal and do right by the hobby for fixing your reputation.
In light of the post... yes, we all make mistakes. The issue here is, you got caught, then immediately became defensive and then tried to soothe the issue with religion (which does NOT have anything to do with why you did it in the first place, nor does that resolve the issue of what you attempted to do).
Leave religious beliefs and practices out of business discussion and just start making things right, rather than acting like you are apologizing and getting angry at people when they catch you.
