    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

On/off mode - the set temp is reached, the power to the heater shuts off...the temp drops, the power turns on (as opposed to proportional, which adjusts the power going to the heating device to keep a constant temp...only shutting off if it goes over the set temp).
Proportional type tstats cannot be used with battery backups or generators, unless they are in on/off mode. Dion, from Spyder Robotics has posted an explanation of why.
 
I have to admit that Helix is the only proportional thermostat I have used and I have been pretty happy with them. The only draw back I have noticed is if the Helix is used in an older home, in a room with other larger appliances hooked up or if you have older electrical plug-ins it will constantly give you and E8 code. The hassle about that is you constantly have to clear the code to adjust the temperature in the enclosures. So if your temp is set and you never have to adjust, then it's no big deal. But honestly, if it wasn't for the help I have received at Helix I would have went with another brand. There customer service is the best you will ever run into.
