In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Well, as my thread in the Ball/Royal pythons section says, I lost a ball last week, and have been thinking of getting a replacement in a couple of weeks..

Ive spent several hours in a shop (Cold Blooded - Rainham - Essex if anyones from the UK) talking to them and handling them, and ive decided on a Boa, just want to double check the basic setup for a male boa with you guys really, and if you can refer me to a reputable caresheet.

Also, as far as disinfecting the viv goes, I work at a rescue, and we use cromosol there for disinfecting litter trays/kennels etc.. would this be suitable to use in a viv? its safe for dogs and cats, and would be left for well over a week before even the substrate was put in, but just wanted to check weather it would be safe for a snake?

Cheers for any help anyone can give!
Mark.

Thank you very much, anyone got any ideas on the cromosol as far as reptiles go?

I have not heard of Cromosol being used here in th U.S., it may be, I don't really know. What seems to be pretty widely used here is Chlorhexidine.

It comes in a concentrate that you mix with water and a gallon lasts a long time for most people. I have been using it for a few years now and I like it. It has a mild pleasant smell and is safe for your animals when used correctly. Some forms of Chlorhexidine are used in the dental field as a mouth rinse for humans so it is pretty safe. Nolvasan is the name brand of Chlorexidine but costs like 4 times more.

Cheers across the pond!!

Welcome to the world of boas by the way, I think you will find that boas are a bit more active and interactive than most Ball Pythons, plus they don't go off feed like you hear the BP's doing. I have had both, but I no longer have Ball Pythons!

Thank you guys, i ditched the cromosol in the end and bought some proper disinfectant from a shop..

Ive picked him up now, going to let him settle in and will get some pictures later on, he is a pretty little snake :)
