In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Info Thomas Dorn - aeterrabyte

Thomas, it does not work like that. You send back the animal as long as it is able to be sent back. If it is unhealthy, you either care for it until it is healthy, or it dies. In this case, you will be sending either a body on ice packs, or the living snake with heat. Upon receiving the snake, rob would send you the money back, minus the the original shipping fees. Unfortunately, you may have just ruined your chance with that. If someone admitted to half the things you admitted to doing, I would not give back a full refund to be completely honest. There were way too many variables almost 20 days after the snake made it to you in good health.

Thats fine. I will ask tomorrow if he thinks she can make shipping.

That's funny, I could have swore that he showed emails between you two in his opening post. Some of which are dated before this thread started. Add another lie to your list.

You're already a liar and a rank amateur where herpetoculture is concerned. In the off chance that you do win a chargeback, and you keep the snake as well as the money, you'll then have a new adjective to describe you: thief. Man, keep on posting. The more you write, the better the seller looks.

Those are from fauna. He never answered emails. He answers PMs but not emails.

Thomas,

When you get the vet letter tomorrow, be sure to scan a copy of the letter of referral from the vet, as well as an actual copy of the record/chart itself. It's the paper you filled out with the animal's name, date of birth, colors, etc.
Given it was just a physical exam and no testing, it should just be one page.

I ask again...did the vet recommend any testing on the animal, fecals, xrays, etc??

So it ate 3 times, then for whatever reason you stick a tube to put water and now it sick. And is going to die. Rob has been more then nice. I would of put this in it place a long time ago.

Why would Thomas agree to those terms?
If the vet says the snake is healthy, why would he send it back? If the vet says it is unhealthy, why would he keep it?

It doesn't sound reasonable at all.

I understand that everyone thinks that Thomas caused this (including me), but we can all see that the snake isn't right. Even a bird doctor knows the snake shouldn't look like that!
I still want to know what caused the swelling in the throat area in that first video. It looks like a bag of water. If it had that fluid/mucous on that Saturday, it wouldn't have tried to eat, much less be able to swallow. In the video that followed, the swelling has subsided, and Thomas even said she looked a lot better.

Finally got around to watching the video....I was expecting much worse based on all of the "half dead" comments. I've been keeping BPs, including spider genes, for some time now and have also been doing rescue work with BPs, including hatchlings, for even longer.

What I'm seeing in that short video is a terrified baby with some spider characteristics. Anyone can tell you that a stressed spider is often more wobbly then when it is not stressed. Maybe I'm missing something, but I do not see anything even remotely "half dead" looking. Heck, I have baby non-spiders in my collection that are timid and will lay upside-down and flail around if continually messed with.

Barring contrary evidence from the vet report you promise to post tomorrow saying this snake is about to die, I think it will probably be acting much more normally if you stop messing with it.

Rob the vet said the snake is not healthy but you are going to be taking her back anyway. Thats the deal in your advertisement. You wrote you got a 30 day heath guarantee./QUOTE]

Unlike some others, I do not agree that this is so cut & dry (although spelling out what it covers would be helpful to the seller).
With this form of guarantee, there is an unwritten/reasonable expectation that the buyer will provide proper care and that it would not cover a buyer's negligence.
It would be up to you to prove that the problem started with the seller.

I answered your emails. Read it again, please. I also posted your video before you did, and It think I recommended the vet visit and offered to pay.

None of this has anything to do with the fact that she was fine on the 22nd, but is no longer fine.

I meant that it is reasonable about Rob's paying for the tests, etc., if the vet says the snake cannot be shipped and it dies. Plus, to take it back if the vet says it can be shipped (vs. healthy).

Sometimes, a snake can get some swelling, in the throat area, when it is in blue (going through shed cycle). This would not affect its ability to eat nor cause any other problems (since it is a normal occurrence). It's possible that is all that it is.

Ahh, I see. So, while you were seemingly trying to portray the seller as someone who avoided contact, the truth of the matter is that he simply replied via a different venue. Which makes your initial statement nothing more than a pitiful attempt at misdirection. Got it.

I'm of the same opinion.

I honestly think that he made a mistake and he going to ruin someone reputation cause of a mistake. He has libeled Rob from the beginning and he wants something for it. Threathen lawsuits. If i was Rob I would walk away. People see that Rob has done nothing wrong. In fact, he got my respect cause even through all this, he has kept his cool.

Ah, apparently there are 2 videos. Nvm. Anyway, I don't see a half dead snake. I do see evidence of a snake with a neuro issue that you say got bad overnight, after being in your care for 2 weeks. This can't possibly be the sellers fault.

This baby has been shipped across country, fed several times, was apparently exposed to 110 degree temps during shipping, off heat for a few days while she was being "set up," given water via a tube forced into her mouth requiring restraint of the head and neck, moved from room to room, and continually handled, flipped all around, and had a camera shoved in her face. Now she's been through an examination with a vet, and at one point I think I read she was in shed. All of this in 2 weeks.

Here's an idea: Get her set up properly, and leave her the heck alone!

I agree with this 200%

Most of what I want to say has already been said and even though you aren't listening to anyone, I wanted to add my agreement that this isn't hurting Rob the way you're thinking it is. I opened this thread knowing nothing about either of you, but after reading this I feel he's the kind of guy I wouldn't hesitate to deal with and you the kind I wouldn't want anywhere near living animals. The more you post, the clearer you make things.
I feel awful for that poor ball, she doesn't need the stress you keep giving her...

Thats just for the video. Im still afraid of IBD but if she is doing better then it couldn't be that. Yea it totally sucks. I was enjoying her a lot. If she eats and drinks and lives I don't mind keeping her. I am still not really happy with her

Do you remember making this post?

The one thing you were worried about most was IBD. Vet said not to test, so you didn't.

I assume that because she has not shed that you have not fed her. I would suggest soaking her but you are already stressing her out enough with all of the flipping. Until feeding day comes, you wont know is she "eats and drinks and lives" so why are you rushing Rob? Is it because the vet could not possibly tell you what was wrong with her without some kind of testing? She may not be healthy, but she also doesn't have a diagnosis. Until you prove that she is sick (with a diagnosed problem), Rob is not in violation of his TOS.

It is still in blue though, and video two doesn't show swelling. I don't think that that it is coincidence that there is fluid there after a forced hydration attempt.

I am still trying to figure out how he knows the snake is not eating if it ate 5 days ago. This whole thing sounds very suspicious. I think the kid is not familiar with the spider wobble and thinks cause of it, it very sick and going to die.

I would still deal with Rob anyday of the week
I dont understand why rob should cover this snake under his 30 day because the buyer messed up and is unhappy
just because he doesn't have fine print in his TOS shouldn't mean the buyer can do damage to the snake and walk away free and clear
