Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Honestly, I would no problem with the Spider gene being wiped from hobby completely. Have you ever seen or held in your hand a Spider that has a really bad wobble? I have, and its very sad to say the least. To think that we make these animals suffer a neurological defect simply because we enjoy the aesthetics of the pattern on the skin is the exact opposite of what we should be doing as keepers and stewards of the hobby.
 
There are many really frustrating things about this, which is why I am still participating in this train wreck of a thread. Among the most frustrating, to me, is that I feel like I have been accused of selling a sick snake (maybe even with IBD). With that doctor's note, Thomas may very well win his PayPal claim.

There are issues within his doctor's note that could easily be remedied by allowing me to speak with his doctor. One minute he agrees, then he changes his mind. I am going to try to email him (Thomas) today to see if he will allow it.

With his background in chemistry and (alleged) drug links, I am extremely concerned about Yellow. I think she should be out of there as soon as she can be, but I really don't know how to proceed. The principle of this is killing me. I think I would rather sell a kidney to finance every test possible for her, than admit to her being sick when she left here.

I am absolutely convinced that either her wobble was exacerbated by his husbandry, or he hurt her. In the eyes of PayPal, and maybe the court, it probably doesn't matter. He's got the letter, after all.

I am sticking to this, and will continue to regardless (irregardless for Diem, which is also on the vet's website among other syntax/grammatical errors) of the outcome: I will happily refund the purchase price, less shipping, for her if he is simply unsatisfied with her. I will not volunteer a dime (besides for testing) if if he continues to insist that I have somehow done something wrong.
 
David, your view is extreme, but I do not necessarily disagree. When I am really angry about this, I think about having Yellow put down so that all the tests can be run. Her wobble was nothing like in the video, nor is her dad's, brother's, or cousins.

If she looked like what has been presented in either video, I assure you I would never have sold her.
 
yes david ive owned a spider with bad wobble it was an adult male
where I dont agree with putting down this animal because of wobble I would kinda agree with not breeding spiders anymore
Rob hes not going to win the paypal its a live animal and it was received chances are its an open shut case for paypal as they are not known for dealing with these problems
 
There is no way that letter from the "vet" will hold any ground. No letterhead, spelling errors (one to his own clinics name for crying out loud). No diagnostic work. IBD has been diagnosed via blood sample (its very rare and tougher to id in a blood smear than organ biopsy), with the animal alive. Honestly, if you lose this dispute, all my faith in the honor and refund system will be shot.
Now, if it were me (being you), I would take the animal back (that being said, Im in veterinary medicine so I can have an advantage) and see what I could do with the animal
 
He may or may not win the claim. Paypal says they don't cover live animals, but my experience (with rabbits, not snakes), has been that it can go either way. I once LOST a claim for an animal I never received. If he does win, given the way he's acted and the hints he's dropped here and there that he would keep her if she were free, I don't think you'll ever be hearing from him again other than for him to laugh at you, Rob.

I hope he'll sober up, come to his senses, and try to work out something reasonable with you. For the snake's sake, not for his.

Also I thought Paypal did not cover live animals in a dispute?

PayPal has decided in my favor. Thomas, get Yellow some help or let someone else have her, please.

If the credit card appeal works, you won't be out any money. Get this snake to someone who will not 'hate' her for what she hasn't done... She's the victim here, not you or I.
 
Thomas you're a real piece of work. So glad you decided to purchase another animal other than my firefly, was this the purhase instead??? I feel sorry for Rob, looking at the whole situation this could have very well been me in this situation. Who knows where that could have gone as I am new to the hobby, but on second thought your stories have more holes than swiss cheese. Swallow your pride own up to your own mistakes and deal with the cosequences!!!!!

Now, people have dug up all your info and contacted your professors etc and it could quite possibly ruin everything you have ever worked for!!!!!! You will ALWAYS HAVE THIS DARK MARK on your file now!!! I belive youre on page 2-3 now of google when searching youre name!!! Wonder how long till your on page one. Remember, prespective employers, grad schools etc will search you and you pop up w this crap!!!! No person in thier right mind would ever hire you after this!!!!!
 
Glad paypal went for you. I think the animal was just over stressed along with spider gene. Stressed from shipping and over stressed after delivery.

There have been quite a few posts regarding Thomas and his chemical abilities, more specifically discussions regarding his advice on reptiles and antibiotics (which is further discussed on his website including a newsletter I'm assuming he writes).

Has the possibility been explored that perhaps, when he thought the snake was sick the day after he fed it, that the "water" included an antibiotic mixture? (That would explain why it was "literally just a drop.")
Just another question to consider.
