    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Time to divide this section?

Divide this section into two: Feed and Feeders / Caging, Supplies & Services?

This section of the classifieds gets a LOT of new ads posted every day. Do you all think it is time to make a division in here? Put feed and feeders into a section of it's own, and have caging, supplies & services in another?

Would this be better, worse, or no difference to you?
 
Please consider dividing the caging as well. It seems to be a good portion of the posts. An all cage/enclosure section might be nice.
 
I agree that they should be separated. Feeders and caging dont belong together in my book. It might make it easier to find exactly what you are looking for without having to go through pages of posts.

It said I wasn't allowed to vote, but I think that these two categories should be seperated.
 
Yeah, it's not letting me vote either. It's going straight to view poll results even though I haven't voted. My vote would be to split.
 
Sorry about some of you not being able to vote on this poll. I had this disabled, since I had also disabled the ability for anyone to create a poll in this section, and figured it logical to disable to ability to vote on them as well. That has now been fixed, so all registered members can vote on any polls I may create here.

I didn't see any real reason to have members able to create polls in this section, but heck, I just thought of one, now didn't I?

So what are we looking at now as suggestions? Make this one section into three separate sections:
  • Feed & Feeders
  • Cages & Enclosures
  • Supplies & Services

Does that look OK?

I am going to go ahead an incorporate this as shown above in the new classifieds section I have just opened up to the general membership here. If I need to, I can make changes on the fly if this doesn't work so well.

I like it as well. WS - any idea when you'll be taking the old classifieds down (or will you be running the two for now until it's settled in?)

If there is actually going to be a transition, I expect it will take a while. I'm certainly not going to force anyone to use the new system, so Iwant to see how well it is accepted. Many people will resist change just because it is change. Being "better" is often not good enough of a reason to change.

It could very well be that no one, or a slim minority only, will use the new system. I have already pointed HerpWantAds to the new classifieds system here, deep sixing the software I was running on that site. So if indications are that the new system has been rejected by the members here, then I will just sever the links on FC to it and run it as a semi-independent site.

Running two parallel classifieds systems will be confusing and awkward for a while, but I would rather do it that way and just see what people prefer here.

I think they should be split as well. Will make it easier for both buyer and seller... I wasn't able to vote on the poll either but that's my 2 cents worth.
 
I think that it is also a good idea to seperate cages from everything else. Im looking for cages right now and I find it difficult to look at all the other adds when I just want to look at cages. Thanks

Well, since only 22 members have even bothered to vote on the poll in all this time, it really doesn't appear to be a very hot issue.

As for voting on polls, any registered member should be able to vote on a poll outside of the GGC section. Poll voting is NOT restricted only to paying members outside of that area.
 
Confused

Why couldn't i vote on it too?
I just presumed it was because it was an old thread.
Guidance is appreciated.
