I will add this on here. I made a deal with shawn a while back when the whole thing with you amanda and John Perkins went down. We traded some corn snakes. It went pretty smooth. But he did ask to do 2 day air cause it was good weather and cheaper. I was fine with it. But then I got his snakes in the mail. Thats right he shipped them through regular mail to save himself a few more bucks. I really did not like that. On top of the fact that it is illegal and I could of got in trouble just like him. I told him he should never do that again.

Yeah but those didnt come from him. They came from some other "immediate family member" that he is partners with (and shares the same address) that will go down for him. Shawn would NEVER do such a thing

The blind leading the blind. A self proclaimed "Future professional" should know better then to agree to have any animal shipped 2 day air. I can only guess you too shipped your animal(s) 2 day air as well seeing as you were fine with him doing it.

BTW, when did the transaction you are now writing about take place? Was it after the highlighted feedback you left for him or is the highlighted feedback the transaction you are speaking of. If it is a different transaction what means of shipping was used then and how many days transit was chosen?

Stupidity on Shawn's behalf by knowingly shipping via USPS and ignorance (as in not being educated) on your behalf by shipping without knowing how the hell to ship properly. I shudder to think about the husbandry on both sides of this transaction as they both seem to act without knowing how to proceed correctly. I don't know how many times this has been said but it warrants to be said again since it seems to be overlooked time and time again,

I admitted that I should not of shipped 2nd day air. Just trying to save a buck. I did on my side use SYR and not USPS. I know way better then that. If it was not ok to ship 2nd day air from time to time when weather is perfect they would not offer that service. But guess what look at there site they do. Not that it matters now cause they arent shipping snakes anymore. So now I am using Reptiles Express. They dont offer a 2nd day air so they dont feel it is ok and dont offer it (more or less UPS doesnt want them shipped 2nd day air). So I now follow that rule. Although they do have a next day air saver. Its like $5 bucks less and just has the package get to its destination later in the afternoon evening time.

Now once again you are not gods gift to know it all about everything reptile. So stop acting like you are. I see to many of the old time people on here (what I mean is been here for years) as well as people with big names thinking they are better then the little guys. I have studied for over 15 years about reptiles. I have knowledge and plenty of experience. I have had a subscription to Reptiles Mag. Sense day one. Not that any of this matters cause you will still bad mouth someone on here that has not been here that long. Its cool I get it you are not very confident in yourself so you bad mouth others. I am not that guy for you to pick on. I will not take it or tolerate it.

If it was not ok to ship 2nd day air from time to time when weather is perfect they would not offer that service. But guess what look at there site they do.

Just thought I'd chime in here - it says right on their site ALL reptiles are to be shipped overnight. SYR also offers ground, does that mean they think it's okay to ship reptiles ground? Of course not. The reason there are options is because you can also use them to ship dry goods or insects (which can be sent 2nd day safely).

From their site:

All live animals must be shipped UPS Next Day Air, Monday through Thursday only. An overnight Friday shipment won’t arrive until Monday—that is not acceptable and not permitted.

I would like to thank David for giving me a bad reputation points. You are someone that abuses this site. I did nothing to you. I said nothing wrong. I did not use fowl language. I did not bad mouth you (well except with the you are not very confident in yourself thing). I simply said for you to leave me alone. You did admit to it, say it was wrong, and said you never plan to do it again. Which is a great thing, no one is perfect.

Saving a buck at the expense of the animals is by definition a BAD practice in this hobby/industry. Your first priority as a keeper should be the welfare of the animals. If you're able to justify "saving a buck" by shipping via a method that is not best for the animal, it is (in my opinion) safe to assume that you're willing to also attempt to "save a buck" when dealing with the husbandry.

I have studied for over 15 years about reptiles. I have knowledge and plenty of experience. I have had a subscription to Reptiles Mag. Sense day one. Not that any of this matters cause you will still bad mouth someone on here that has not been here that long.

Nothing that anyone has said has anything to do with the fact that you've been here a short time. If you have studied reptiles for 15 years, and genuinely cared about their welfare, one would assume that you KNOW that shipping anything other than next day is not safe.

I realize that reporting information here does not exempt people from scrutiny, but is continuing to go after Josh about his shipping really pertinent to this thread? He already stated that (at the time) he thought it was acceptable, and I suspect that Shawn's request played some role in that. He's also stated that he's since learned that it is not acceptable to use 2nd day. Questions to ascertain the truth or validity of his statements are one thing, making this thread about him is not.
I know this thread has gotten boring with Shawn unable to respond, and Benjamin wisely staying out of it; but, it still needs to stay on track. Unless somebody can explain WHY Josh should be the new focus, let's turn off the spotlight.
