    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Now for the dead lizard, it was a trans. It was NOT sick, smaller, or frail.
Breeders ship dragons around 6 weeks old. I got those dragons in at 6 weeks, kept them 2-3 weeks before Shawn got them.
Post #1 again Amanda! You are only burying yourself, so please stop. If you have emails that say you would replace the dragon to him before your first post, then post them please. Right now its a he said she said about that. I am trying to be fair on both sides.

They not right out of the egg as they say and def. were not 3 inches..

I'll have to look it up but pretty sure they were here 3-4 weeks before I shipped them. They were doing great, go look at the pics in the ad I had for them..

The very first thing I said to him in my reply to "she has died" was I'm sooo sorry! And I mean it, I'm truly sorry for the lose as I know he really wanted a trans. And the first thing I thought was "maybe I can trade some stuff I have here or buy him a trans and send it"

And yes it hurts because Shawn does know me better and he knows deep down I would have made it right! NO I did not want him ban and was not expecting that.

Amanda, listen... What you need is someone close to you mentor you. Now, I know you and Shawn were friends but, IMO, he was not one to be your mentor. From early on, I saw a lot of people willing to take you under their wings so to speak and thats what I feel you need. One that stands out to me, that really looked to be that in the begining was Shadera. She was the closest person to you that would most likely have done a lot in the sense of give you advice, help you through situations, and, on top of that shes a pretty decent person.

Dont look at this thread as everyone is against you. This is the BOI and things get heated. Also, you have to understand how things are meant, just not how you feel that you are reading them. I can only personally speak for myself but I can point out a lot of people that are giving you shipping advice, which IMO is sound advice.

Stop being defensive and understand that the BOI is here to redeem a party, as well as help people learn for future reference. In this certain case, that is what you need to do. Learn from your mistake(s) and move on.

Shawn was his own worst enemy. His photos, especially his video of Sulcatas in a small tank told me that he has some husbandry issues. Both parties in this situation could have come out of this unscathed, including Shawn. But, shawn chose a different path, denial. His deal is that he is perfect and did everything right. He just forgot to teach his children that its NOT okay to violate shipping policies. After all, this is about the hobby and the animals, not the individual.

As I told you before, be weary of people who sell but dont breed what they in fact are dealing in. To me, those type of people, I call them CL flippers, are the worst kind. They get their stuff on Craigslist, and call it rescue, will sell in specified markets to generate a profit. Hell, some will even call the normals... hets.

Be picky whom you sell to. Be even more picky who you buy from. Deal with people you know or people youd like to know. Hopefully someone in your area will step up to the plate and mentor you so that you become better and more knowledgable in the future. Hopefully, you will take this as advice and not get defensive over what I have posted here.

Andrea, I think what Amandas post is stating is that Shawn never gave her the chance to work with him on the dead dragon. He erased her from his friends list and said that he was done with her. There wasnt any communication between the two, except for him calling her names and such. Also, I do believe this happened right around the time a payment was supposed to be made. I could be off-base here as this is just going from memory.
 
Ben once again calm down! I just stated that same thing, so please take deep breaths and calm down. You dont need to get worked up and be banned, so please. Amanda is burying her own self with her own posts.
 
Dean I agree that she would have probably made an offer, but what it comes down too is where is the proof before this thread started. Thats where the he said she said comes into it.

I totally agree with you. There has been a lack of proof through this entire thread. But I do take her statement that she personally told me that she would have given Shawn almost anything that she had to make it up to him as truth. She told me that she really liked the guy and was really not wanting to put a bad guy thread up regarding this. I was the one who hammered the bad guy thread because I think its relative for all of us to make a fromed opinion if this is someone we want shipping animals to us. I also knew that it would go both ways as well.

The biggest problem I see here is the lack of communication between the two. As we can see now, Shawn doesnt know how to communicate a problem should one arrise. I dont think that it makes him a bad guy, but it does limit how someone can deal with him as well.

I still do not know or understand how Ben can speak for Shawn if they are seperate entities under the same roof. Personally, that just solidifies my position that Shawn was in a position to do something about how the snakes were shipped rather than the position Shawn took as he was not the one who shipped it out. Ben, can you actually post any emails that you personally sent or received from Amanda since this was supposedly your transaction as well?

May help if you would point to the original post where this statement of " These Trans were SHIPPED to me at 6 weeks.....I had them for 2-3 weeks or so before SENDING (shipping) them to you."

Sounds like someone is flipping to me. NOT that there's anything wrong with flipping, but questions that I would think needed to be answered instead of immediately pointing to Shawn's husbandry habits are:
1. While the animals were with Amanda were quarantine procedures followed?
2. How do we know that there was enough time to ensure that the dragons that were FROM SOMEONE ELSE and sold under Amanda's name were indeed healthy?

As has already been mentioned, it is odd that if Shawns husbandry habits were so terrible..that more animals would be sold to him and no help given to ensure that Shawn did indeed benefit from the seller's expertise.:shrug01:

I already did, but, its a little harder there since he is a "business partner" as well as son-in-law too. Honestly, all Shawn and Ben need is someone to mentor them as well as change Shawn's mindset about things.

You know me though Dave, I HATE labeling people as bad people unless they really warrant it. I think people can change bad habits and make good on what they do or how they do it. Sometimes the dollar signs in their eyes really overtakes the whole learning process though.
 
i would like to let other people know that the beardies that came the first time 2 of the 4 lived 5 to 7 days and shriveled away but we choose not to say anything because shawn was friends with amanda and don’t like to make waves with his friends .the videos were all shot when he first got them and had not got a chance to get the uv lights and yes he did take amandas advice on cutting up the greens and getting the uv lights because it was his first time having beardies and that is why he made the video to amanda to make sure he was doing right buy them . the video was to get advice in caring for the beardies not to be used by poking fun of! the sad thing is the only beardies that have died out of all of ours is 3 of the ones recieved from amanda!

So are you saying that because she purchased an animal from a "friend" she doesn't have a legimate complaint?:shrug01:
 
Ben, the dragons did not die months later like Amanda kept saying? They died 5-7 days later and the newest one died 10 days after it was received? No offense, but I probably would have snapped myself if I paid for 3 dragons and they died in that short of time from arrival. Amanda, you really might want to change your TOS to maybe a 7 day health guarantee instead of 3 days and definitely change your shipping practices. Friend or not, I would have probably snapped worse then Shawn if that happened to me.

This may be more effective if it were put in Amanda's thread? Shawn is banned and can not answer threads, it seems a bit unfair to keep his thread alive and bury him with threads to respond to (if he feels like it) as soon as he returns?

Yeah, that's all well and good but what right would they have to snap and go off on her about the dragons being sick and then dying after any period of time when they never told her they thought there was something wrong in the first place?
It's not until now, days or weeks, or however long, after receiving them that it is coming out that now some of the other dragons died.
Just as it's been said over and over, she wasn't given a chance to make the situation right. She was told after the fact in a rude manner that the dragon/dragons died and then cussed out and blocked from even responding.
Explain to me how you would go about making things right in that case when you can't even talk to the person that's claiming the dragons are dead but also did not send any form of proof (pictures, video, etc.)?
