In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

THAT is the question!! Oh, I want to breed a pair or two SOOOOOO bad. I'm feeling a lot better now, and I figure it would be OK to breed one or two girls. That shouldn't overwhelm me with babies. I know one pair I want to do for sure is Brimstone x Lost...but Lost isn't ovulating at the moment. For pair number 2 I was considering either Amante x Rio or Amante x Raya...but those girls aren't ovulating either. HOWEVER...Tigerlily IS ovulating, and she would be my #4 choice for a pairing. I'm totally indecisive as to if I should pair her up, or wait for my #2 or 3 choice. HELP ME!!!

Old pics....man, do I need to dust off the camera.

I did the above just before I got Rio...

I don't have any suggestions on pairings, they would all make beautiful babies.
I will say to take it slow. Know your limitations and work within them. Any way let us know what you decide.

Sorry, Shanti... you cannot breed Raya. That's something I'm going to have to do.

Bahahahaha :dgrin: That's what yoooou think! I'll take a new photo of Raya tomorrow...she's become a very interesting bold stripe. :dgrin:

I guess that makes my choice....I'll wait it out for Raya and Lost.

Here's something to tease you with until tomorrow (and the sun)...

You know my answer... BREED!
:)

Oh, but it's so hard to make that jump..LOL. I'd love to have a huge gecko orgy going on right now...but in a few months I'll be much bigger and I doubt I'll want to be running to the incubator all the time and feeding all of those (CUTE) little mouths. And THEN, I'll have a little human mouth to feed not long after. It would be SOOOOO easy to get in over my head. That's why I figure 2 females would be safe....enough to be lots of fun, but not too much.

Got any hints for getting the girls "in the mood"?

BREED IT! Just few pair does not take a lot of time and you have too beautiful pairings to pass by.

Shanti I would hold out for your two pairings. I think two pairs is a good start for you, and maybe when you get the hang of the new human baby thing, you add on a couple more pairs. However, the baby geckos will help take your mind off the aches and pains going on in your baby belly :)

LOL! I managed to forget that there have been several newcomers in my absence! My problem is, I have too many nice geckos to choose from. I have 6.14 leos, and all but a few are of breeding age and they range from high yellows, hets, tang, albinos, patternless and more. That's why I'm having such a hard time deciding. I'll have to photo a bunch of them today.

I think you're right Desire...start small. I can always do the others next year.

I love Lost and Raya, I would breed them if I were you (And, I would also give Jeanne a BIG discount on babies from Amante and Raya as well. :) )

Start Small - but it's a catch 22....

If you are going to breed soon I recommend doing it this year (if possible) as opposed to waitiing until next year because once the child is walking around (but still too young to help) it's a lot harder to take care of geckos. My youngest son is 19 months old and when he arrived (about the time I had 30 geckos hatched that year and 15 adults as well) I thought I had a full plate.... was I wrong! The following year (2005) I hatched well over 60 geckos ( and still had 15 breeders) and my son was walking at this point and required continuous monitoring. If I wasn't fortunate enough to sell a group of 30 to a participant on these forums, I would be in a real bad way right now. My wife and the other 2 children had the unenviable task of keeping the baby from getting at me (and the geckos) during the feeding and cleaning that was always seemed to be going on. I have since sold a bunch of my breeders and kept a select few to use on my upcoming projects and am able to keep up. I will definitely be able to expand the collection again soon and definitely am still breeding, but be prudent and don't overwhelm yourself. I should have definitely kept my breeding scaled back last year and almost got burned because I didn't think before hand. I am glad I stuck it out and seeing what comes out of each and every egg is the best part of it. You have nicer geckos than I had and I know I would be tempted to go crazy breeding them, but just know that it is alot of work. You will definitely enjoy the results.

Well, Eric said breed Tigerlily...LOL! I told him I would only do it if he would assist me in feeding and cleaning (which he has NEVER done, never offered...they've always been my thing). He agreed, so I'll be starting off this year with 3 geckos. :-D I'm gonna call it good with that...LOL.

Love is in the air....da-da dum dum da-da-da

Just an update.... Rio started ovulation before Raya, so she's the lucky girl to go in with Amante. Brimstone has his work cut out for him with two girls...Tigerlily and Lost. I'm so excited....I can't wait to see what comes of these pairings.
