In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Humane Society Says Snake Probably Didn't Slither Through Pipes

POSTED: Friday, April 16, 2010
UPDATED: 1:45 pm EDT April 16, 2010
A hotel guest in La Vista, Neb., awoke to a strange and slithery sight sitting in her toilet: a 3-foot ball python.

The woman spotted the surprise snake before sitting down. With some help from the Nebraska Humane Society, she got the snake into a pillowcase, reported Omaha TV Station KETV.

Officials with the Nebraska Humane Society said they estimated the python found Thursday morning at the Hampton Inn was about 3 years old. They said pythons aren't typically found in Nebraska, so it's likely this python was a pet.

They added that pythons don't like water, especially cold water, so it's unlikely the snake slithered through sewer pipes.

A caregiver with the Nebraska Human Society said they will wait five days for the owner to come forward before they put it up for adoption.

A spokesperson from Hampton Inn & Suites said the company is investigating where the snake came from.

The hotel said it has a no-pet policy.

Well, it's nice to see that the situation is being handled properly! At least they're not euthanizing the poor thing. Good for Nebraska!

Florida would NEVER be that humane!

You know... It's funny that this is here... I lost a couple corns one time and low and behold... when a friend of mine went to use the toilet... one of them popped out of the rim!! I don't think I've ever seen my friend move so quick but at least I found the snake :)

I also agree about Florida not being so humane about this type of situation... although.. in the Gainesville area.. we have a pretty good team in place that is better at handling such situations !!

The Nebraska Humane Society has tracked down the owner of a python found in a toilet of a La Vista hotel room. They said the owner panicked after losing the pet snake while staying at the Hampton Inn in late March and left without alerting management. The python was found Thursday morning by another guest.

The owner has not been cited.

Hotel officials have declined to comment.
